We have not had very good internet service or none at all the past 2 days.
We are in Watson Lake, Yukon. We got here around 11 today after coming from Liard Hot Springs yesterday..let me back up....
We left Ft. Nelson and then drove to Liard Hot Springs yesterday. The drive was just gorgeous! We saw Stone Sheep, Big Horn Sheep, a caribou and a moose ran in front of Don/Connie...... they roads were good and paved only a few part that weren't....
On our way to Liard Springs yesterday we stopped by Muncho Lake.... it the most turquoise color I've ever seen next to Crater Lake..... it is a long lake and it was soooo pretty...we stopped and had a photo shoot!
Liard Hot Springs is a Provincial Park in British Columbia and so we had no hookups at all..... no water or elec. connection except by running our generators. We did fine with that and even watched a movie last night! We had to turn off our generators at 10 (rules) and so we got along good. It is a natural hot springs and so we all donned our swimming suits and sat and just relaxed in the hots springs. Andy was the only one who dunked all the way in for his sinuses....he said it really helped! For supper we had a mixture of tacos, enchilladas and dips.....
We left around 8 this am and didn't really have too far to go today...about 140 miles to Watson Lake. We all brought our signs to hang and will probably do that soon...it is only around 3:30 here and it is still light out at past 11! The sun begins to shine around 3:45 AM !!!! Ask us how we know!
On our travels today we saw some gorgeous scenery and sooo many trees! The mountains just go on forever! The guys put some hail screen material on their radiators this afternoon as tomorrow we are going through some famous "Alaskan highway construction"..... we already have a chipin our windshield that is branching so better not push our luck with radiator problems.
I know I"m rambling on our journey but sometimes I remember something after I've written it! CRS I know!!!
The campground we are at now has full hookups and it is basically a flat lot with spaces..... at least we have full hookups and wifi! I have had some trouble with my air card and not sure if its the area we are in or the air card.... so am using wifi connection now. Alot of people have been coming in today after us and so we are glad we have a space for tonite! Lots of RVer's on the road! Many more than we thought there would be.
We are planning on going to Carcross tomorrow for the weekend. We all want to take the train ride at Skagway on Sat. or Sunday depending when we can get tickets..... We have about 300 miles to drive tomorrow and we were told in the office today that it is about 60-70 miles of construction.... aka..... dirt and gravel.....hopefully it won't rain.... We all washed our rigs and trucks when we got here as they have an RV wash free to use..... so we did that before we unhooked.
Well, that about does it for today......
we are beginning to see some gorgeous scenery and want to download our pictures so we can put them on our blog site.... stay tuned!
Until next time! We will even be back "in the states".....
