Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We are still at it in Coffeyville.....aka..... Amazon.com..... it is hard work and many mornings on our way out the door of the plant at 5AM...we say we are not coming back but after a few hours of sleep and sitting with our feet up we are ready to go back to get the day or night over with! The work is hard but it seems to be getting easier for us to do the work. We are still in receiving and Amazon is still getting merchandise to send to you! It is amazing what all they have and sell .... I had no idea ..you could buy a ream of paper or Rubbermaid kitchen containers at Amazon.com when you can go to Walmart or the Dollar store and get the same thing! Also.... used books from different places like libraries or Goodwill or garage sales! :) haha!!! we have checked in thousands of boxes of new and used books, tapes,cd's and all the electronic games you could think of......

We are working 11 hr. shifts now so we go to work Friday through Monday night from 5:30 PM to 5AM...although we received a call last night that we will go back to 10 hr. shifts beginning Friday night so we will be getting off at 4 instead of 5.....
we usually come home and get to bed by 5:30 and get up around noon..... I feel guilty sleeping past noon but we eat lunch and then take a nap in the afternoon to get rested up for the night..... it's kind of funny because we don't really get tired as such during the night until around 4ish then we "hit a wall' and are so tired and ready to finish the job. We only have about 16 working days left unless we work overtime again which we did last Tuesday...so that made us working a 55 hr. week....

The week of the 11th my sister and brother-in-law came to visit us and were here for 2 1/2 days. We had nice visit and enjoyed having them around. We went to the "Dalton Defender Museum" here. Sandra and I like to go to museum's so we really enjoyed it. They promote the Defenders of the Dalton gang....The Dalton gang robbed 2 banks at one time here in Coffeyville on Oct. 5, 1892..... 4 of the 5 were shot and killed....the last brother was shot but served prison time in California. They have life size photos of the "gang" laid out on the street..... BUT the town emphasizes the defenders or the townsmen who shot them....they do not want to promote that crime pays..... my way of thinking is that without the Dalton gang doing what they did they wouldn't have the "fame of the museum"...... ?????? You decide! :)

We haven't done much in the past few weeks except working and sleeping and eating.... and of course trips to Walmart! We did go to Topeka for the day last week as I had a dentist appt. in the morning and a hair appt.in the afternoon...then we came back to Coffeyville..... we do not like driving in the dark and it was almost 7 by the time we got home. We had lunch with Megan which was great.....

We got up and around yesterday morning and talked about going to the laundrymat but our neighbors were moving to another campground something that has full hookups and 50amp instead of the 30 amp we had at Walter Johnson overflow. We decided to move too as they had spaces open...... so we did laundry and then went back to get things ready to move.We are now at Heritage park. It is quiet here but we lost our "scenery" of watching the highway traffic! We will have sewer now which will be better when it gets colder we can dump water when we need to. Also no more laundrymat! Yea!!!!!

We moved over here around 3:30 and I cleaned and got things put back out and also our 1 tub of Christmas stuff ..... so we have our Christmas tree up!.... but when I plugged it in...the bulb broke so we have to get a new bulb for it.

Today we and about 25 other couples went to a restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner.... which was nice but we didn't get to visit a long time as they closed at 2 and some had to go back to get ready to go to work.... never enough time to visit....
We sat with Dennie and Karen, Ralph and Lorna and Jim and Bobbie. Bill and I had read Bobbie's blog for about 2 years and they are working here...so it has been great getting to meet someone we ready daily! :) Bobbie and Jim are very active in Escapees so we can find out more info. about that since we joined Escapees in Sept.

Well, that is about it for this Thanksgiving...... it was quiet and pretty laid back this year...not sure what next year will bring! I thought about 2 years ago when we were moving some things to Topeka and Lawrence and Megan and Jeff came to help. We loaded an enclosed trailer to take some things to storage on Wed. and also some things on Thanksgiving morning..... I had made 3 pies on Wed. morning before the kids got home. We had decided to have our Thanksgiving on Friday afternoon with Erin's family..... in the hustle and bustle of packing the trailer and hustling around to leave we didn't realize we had left the pies in Stockton until that Friday evening..... also we had ham Jeff,Megan,Bill and I had ham sandwiches for Thanksgiving dinner that year! How funny to look back on that!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving--- we are so blessed to have so many good friends and family all over the country and count each of you who read this as a blessing !

Until next time!
BJ
