I promise I'm going to TRY to update better beginning with this post!
Time just slips by and our days are going to become numbered soon!
I did get my quilt top finished...it will go to the quilter in Feb. sometime... It is huge! -- basically it became a king size quilt! We will be able to tuck our pillows in now when we get this back... we played Joker on Tuesday night with more couples joining our "card night"...it was a fun evening.
I fused 2 pcs. of glass and it was "slumped" over a fluted bowl.... meaning the heat from the kiln melted the glass over the bowl to become that shape.... it came out of the kiln beautifully but wouldn't come off the bowl.... so we waited until Friday when our "teacher" could do it. When I went in the stain glass room Friday morning the bowl was in about 4 pcs! I was crushed! We aren't sure what happened to it but the teacher thinks it may be the kiln...cooling down too fast.... so I began another "project" ...a plate with some houses and a sidewalk..... stay tuned.... hopefully I will get this one done in good shape! That is fun and I haven't made any more jewelry.... I like the fuse glass projects .
Bill is still working on his project and hasn't worked on it for over a week because the weather has turned cold! It is only about 60's during the day and the wind is cool...so we haven't spent much time outside.
Saturday morning our park had a vendor show.... kind of like a craft fair.... I worked at the Quilts of Valor table for a while and then we left and ate lunch and got some groceries before coming home. We went to church in the afternoon and then ate out.
Sunday....we were up and around later than our "usual" morning time ..... and we worked around here most of the morning. We had a "workkamper gathering" mid afternoon...we fixed hot dogs and everyone else bringing something to finish the meal. We had 21 for dinner and had a great time visiting...we haven't done that only once this season as the temp's became cooler.... hopefully when it warms up we will do more.....
The park had a variety show of 1 last night..it was a man who does Red Skeleton "impersonation".... it wasn't our cup of tea and we weren't impressed.... He really didn't do a very good job we thought...
Bill has built a printer cabinet to set under the desk for our printer. We had to buy a new printer so he thought this would be a good time to get it done. He stained and varnished one coat this afternoon outside. I went to ceramics and am still working on the planter for my Christmas cactus I bought in Dec. When I came home we had a visitor! It was Ed Foster from Stockton! He had to deliver and pick up some vehicle so he was visiting with Bill outside! Addie was with their daughter Casey who lives in Scottsdale.
Well, that about catches us up and its time for me to begin dinner as we play cards at 6:30 this evening.....
Have a good week!
Until next time!
BJ
