Today was such a beautiful day here! It warmed up to about 75 and the sun was shining brightly!
Yesterday after Bill got home from work we went to the chiropractor's so we could both get a treatment..I think we both are feeling much better and we had massage's after our treatments. We ate lunch and then went to Walmart before returning home..... It was nice to just hang out at home and not do much for the rest of the day.
We were up and around very early this am or I should say I was up and around earlier than usual this am..... I went to work when Bill did before 7..so I could get off earlier (at 9:30 instead of 10)..... I went with 3 other ladies to a HUGE craft/quilt "festival" at the Arizona fairgrounds..... It was so overwhelming...there was so much to see and look at..... it was located at the fairgrounds and took in 2 HUGE buildings and also the 3rd building was where the seminar's were held. We walked most of the day and around 3 we all were just ready to call it a day..... They had so many booths of fabric, patterns, kits and anything quilt related along with craft things like knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, card making...... Not much came home with me..only 2 things actually! I have projects I want to get done yet this winter so I resisted! Besides there are a few really great quilt stores here that had the same things!
When I got home we sat outside and visited and then our next door neighbor came over and then her husband came over so we sat outside until dinner time and the sun was setting and ....it was getting chilly!
Not much planned this weekend..we might catch a movie on Saturday evening...
Until next time!

Another week gone by
I promise I'm going to TRY to update better beginning with this post!
Time just slips by and our days are going to become numbered soon!
I did get my quilt top finished...it will go to the quilter in Feb. sometime... It is huge! -- basically it became a king size quilt! We will be able to tuck our pillows in now when we get this back... we played Joker on Tuesday night with more couples joining our "card night"...it was a fun evening.
I fused 2 pcs. of glass and it was "slumped" over a fluted bowl.... meaning the heat from the kiln melted the glass over the bowl to become that shape.... it came out of the kiln beautifully but wouldn't come off the bowl.... so we waited until Friday when our "teacher" could do it. When I went in the stain glass room Friday morning the bowl was in about 4 pcs! I was crushed! We aren't sure what happened to it but the teacher thinks it may be the kiln...cooling down too fast.... so I began another "project" ...a plate with some houses and a sidewalk..... stay tuned.... hopefully I will get this one done in good shape! That is fun and I haven't made any more jewelry.... I like the fuse glass projects .
Bill is still working on his project and hasn't worked on it for over a week because the weather has turned cold! It is only about 60's during the day and the wind is cool...so we haven't spent much time outside.
Saturday morning our park had a vendor show.... kind of like a craft fair.... I worked at the Quilts of Valor table for a while and then we left and ate lunch and got some groceries before coming home. We went to church in the afternoon and then ate out.
Sunday....we were up and around later than our "usual" morning time ..... and we worked around here most of the morning. We had a "workkamper gathering" mid afternoon...we fixed hot dogs and everyone else bringing something to finish the meal. We had 21 for dinner and had a great time visiting...we haven't done that only once this season as the temp's became cooler.... hopefully when it warms up we will do more.....
The park had a variety show of 1 last night..it was a man who does Red Skeleton "impersonation".... it wasn't our cup of tea and we weren't impressed.... He really didn't do a very good job we thought...
Bill has built a printer cabinet to set under the desk for our printer. We had to buy a new printer so he thought this would be a good time to get it done. He stained and varnished one coat this afternoon outside. I went to ceramics and am still working on the planter for my Christmas cactus I bought in Dec. When I came home we had a visitor! It was Ed Foster from Stockton! He had to deliver and pick up some vehicle so he was visiting with Bill outside! Addie was with their daughter Casey who lives in Scottsdale.
Well, that about catches us up and its time for me to begin dinner as we play cards at 6:30 this evening.....
Have a good week!
Until next time!

Time to fill you in again!
It has been over a week since I've last written and we have just been on the go since the last time I've written.
So let me back up and see if I can fill you in on what we have been doing since then.....
Friday, Jan. 9th we went to stain glass class.....the class is beginning to fill up with others..... I worked on my jewelry and also cut a 12X12" pc. of glass I guess I should say I "tried" to score it in a circle using a circle cutter..... Our teacher did the clear sheet of glass for me showing me how to do it.... being almost lunch time she left me on my own to do the creamy blue sheet.... so I got most of it done but didn't get the complete circle done before it chipped off..... so when she got back we did something different.... so we put it in a paper towel and hit the glass with a hammer...it cracked into pie shaped pieces! I put it on the clear glass pc. and then it was fired.... it fused together and now it will go back into the kiln and laid on top of a fluted bowl to "become that shape"..... I can't wait to have it done!
Bill continued to work on his projects and he moved his things home so he could work outside when he has time.
Saturday, the 10th we spent most of the day around here and going to the store. We went to see the movie "Gran Torino" ...it was great! Typical Clint Eastwood but it was so good!
Sunday, we went to church then headed over to see Bill's aunt and uncle.... we had a great visit with them and enjoyed seeing them and their daughter and granddaughter...who we hadn't seen in a long time! We stopped by Camping World before we went to their house also....
Monday, Jan. 12 was a working/sewing day for me and Bill worked and messed around here too. He can always find something to do it seems..... even if its napping! :) haha!!!
Monday night the Activities dept. showed a free movie"Mama Mia"....it was really good and the music by ABBA was great!
Tuesday morning we worked and after dinner we went to play Joker with our friends..... I went to ceramics in the afternoon and cleaned and started painting the planter....
Wednesday, after work I did some laundry and ran to Joann's ....
Thursday afternoon I had made a chiropractor appt. at 3 so we made a couple of stops before then and Bill and I both saw the chiropractor...he was pretty good..... Bill wasn't as far out of place as I was.... they have massage therapists in their office so I had a massage while waiting for Bill...it was great! I had never had one before..
Friday morning after work I went back to the chiropractor to have him check me out and he popped my back again...it feels much better. Since it was Bill's birthday we went to Famous Dave's for supper with Bob/Jackie, Gary/Angela for supper. I stopped by the stain glass class and it was so full I decided not to stay. 16+ people in that room is too many! But I got another idea for something else to make!
Saturday morning I went to 4 other gals to a lady's house to take a quilt to have her quilt it..... it was really neat to see her process of how she decides how to quilt it. She has a long arm in a seperate room where she works.....
After that Jackie and I were going to go to a craft show at the Suprise Stadium ...the guys decided to go with us and we needed to stop at Walmart and Joann's so we did that.... lunch followed and we stopped at a couple of quilt stores and never did make it to the craft show..... we went to church and then over to Bob/Jackie's for spaghetti. After dinner we came home and I cut Bill's hair. That was our day!
Sunday we left about 6:30 AM to head West to Quartzite! What a day and experience that was! I have never never seen so many rocks of all different sizes, shapes colors and everything else that goes with them... Quartzite is a desert town that houses about 600 people every other month of the year except during January when it grows to about 100,000! It has a huge huge huge flea market during the month of January and peeking with a rock and RV show this week.... Wow! What a sight to experience....people with RV's were parked right out in the desert without any hookups .... not sure how they got water unless they carried it in..... just too primitive for me! and not to mention the dust dirt and "creatures" too!
You just have to experience that once! Well, we did! :)
Today after work I went to sew and finally got the main part of the quilt I am working on done...I'm going back tomorrow morning and hopefully get the borders on so it will be all completed and ready for the quilter. I got home around 2:30 and we went swimming...it was gorgeous today! I did water aerobics and Bill relaxed in the pool and hot tub...the water was like a bath! It was fantastic! We came home and sat outside for a little bit before fixing dinner....so that about catches us up for now...
Until next time!

Thursday afternooon
Our work week is almost over for this week...in fact Bill was off today and tomorrow so he has a 4 day weekend! I only work 2 hours on Friday so it will be quick for me too!
Tuesday afternoon I went to ceramics and began to clean a planter for the Christmas Cactus I bought before Christmas. Tuesday evening we met our friends for a quick 3 games of Joker and the gals won! We have a "run" going on of beating the guys!
Wednesday morning after work I went to the sewing room and continued to work on the King size quilt I am making... I 'm ready to begin piecing it together... also had a "Material Girls' quilting meeting at noon. I came home for lunch and found out that Bill was working all day so I went back to sew for while. We got home about the same time and he went to the hot tub to relax a little bit...I worked around here as the air is just a little chilly to spend much time in the pool yet.
We grilled chicken breasts for supper and relaxed for the evening.
Thursday after I got home from work we went to the Stain Glass shop to get some more glass for projects to work on tomorrow. Then we headed south to another shopping area to look for some shoes for me.... my walking shoes have about seen better days and were beginning to hurt my feet so it was time for new ones..... we found some good deals at Sports Authority and we each got a pr. of shoes. A quick stop at Walmart for a coffepot and then lunch at Applebee's. We came home and then decided to take a ride on the golf cart around the park... lots of empty or for sale park models or village homes etc. But the park is filling up with RV's..... still some empty spaces but not like before.
The weather has begun to change and warm up some. It is still cool in the morning's but I noticed today it wasn't as cold as it had been earlier this week. They have forecasted temp's in the 68-70 range so we won't complain about that!
Well, that about catches us up for the week and the weekend already plans to be busy.....
Until next time!

Monday evening
Good evening!
We worked this am and going to work while it was about 43 really wakes you up in the morning!!! Thank God for the golf cart! Love that golf cart, Darrin! :)
After work I stopped by where they were hiring concession people for the Suprise Stadium Spring Baseball teams. They gave us a HUGE packet of things to fill out and after looking at it and filling some of it out...I decided that wasn't for me....I didn't think selling hot dogs and pop I would need to tell them my High School and college degrees or previous work "life".....etc. so I came home and gathered my sewing things and went to the sewing room to sew. Bill worked until 11 and then he came home for lunch. I went back to the sewing room after lunch until about 4. Bill went to the grocery store and to the stain glass room for the afternoon.
We met our friends at Red Lobster tonite for dinner as it was Angela's birthday yesterday so we met tonite..... It was a newer Red Lobster and it wasn't fully decorated with all the typical Red Lobster "stuff" hanging all over.... the meal was good and we enjoyed it. Bill is watching the Fiesta Bowl right now.....
So that begins our work week this week. The morning work time goes so fast for me as I am only there 2 1/2 hrs. now and I had to hustle this am to finish my work but got it done. Now to remember to pick up supplies I need for tomorrow! Sometimes CRS sets in too fast!
Until next time!

Saturday
Friday after we both got off working we spent the rest of the day or afternoon at the stain glass class. I have made 14 cabeshon's from fused glass and Bill continues working on his projects.... It is fun and the time goes by quickly. There were more people stopping by the shop yesterday than before so I wouldn't be surprised if the class is full next week or filling quickly as more people arrive. I have several things in mind I want to make before our season ends! Just to find the time!
After we got home Jackie called and asked if we wanted to go to the movie, "Valkrie" with Tom Cruise... Mary thought it was "too hot to cook"...so we went out to dinner at JB's Restaurant and Brewery...it was really good and the price was very reasonable. The movie was good too.
This morning we ran a few errands and are now home for the afternoon. They are having "white elephant bingo" this evening so we are BBQing hamburgers with our friends and then going to bingo....
Stay tuned....I hope it doesn't rain as they say it is suppose too....
Until next time!

Happy New Year 2009!
Wow! Does that seem strange or what????
Happy New Year!
Bill and I hope your New Year began safe and sound and hope the New Year brings all the happiness to each and everyone!
We have had a busy week and enjoyed having Megan and Jeff with us for a few days.Friday evening, Darrin and Christina joined us for dinner.... we had a great visit with them.. The "kids" had a good time together.
Last Saturday morning we went on a tour of the University of Arizona Cardinals football stadium which is about 3 miles from us. It was a great tour and I can actually say we have been on the sidelines of a major football game! It was a very cool day and the tour was mostly outside or in the open of the stadium. Very interesting!
Saturday evening 8 of us went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner....Gary/Angela,Bob and Jackie joined us and we had a nice evening for dinner.
Sunday morning we ventured to Prescott Valley to Jeff's great aunt's house. His parents had driven down from Las Vegas to spend the weekend and being that close we took the kids there. It was a great day and we enjoyed that very much. It was great seeing Jeff's parents again and visiting with them. We couldn't remember the last time we had visited with them...... much too long! The weather was nice and sunny to help!
Monday morning, Bill and I had to go back to work. Jeff went golfing with Gary, Bob and Joe. Megan was on her own and she came down to the pool and swam for a while and also got into the hot tub. When I got off work we ate lunch.....Jeff got home around 1 and they had to get ready to leave. The shuttle service told us that they would pick them up at 2:50PM but he arrived at 2:30 so it was a good thing they were ready...
After they left I cleaned up around here and got ready for our work week.
Tuesday afternoon I had a hair appt. and didn't go to ceramics... will catch up this next week. Lots of people have gone home for the holidays and the park has been pretty empty but is beginning to fill up. After my hair appt. I went to Walmart to get groceries...
Tuesday evening we went to Taco Tuesday at the clubhouse grill and then played Joker with our "group".... the gals won again! :).... we actually clobbered the guys!!!
Wednesday after work and lunch I made our dips for the evening and then Jackie picked me up and we ran to a quilt shop that was going out of business and closing that afternoon..... not finding much for me but Jackie bought some yarn on sale at 70% off.... I got some fabric to make a billfold....
We had a potluck dinner last night and played Joker .....this time we split with the guys...2 and 2..... we were all home by 10:30..... so it was a nice quiet New Years Eve for us....
This morning Bill had to work to uncover the pool and came home even before I had gotten around for the morning... I did some laundry and finished putting Christmas things packed away.
After lunch we ran to Lowe's to get a few things and stopped at Bed,Bath and Beyond and came home..... it was so nice so after Bill had his "snooze"...we went to the pool. Later our next door neighbors joined us at the pool... we visited with them in the pool. The hot tub was great and the pool was wonderful after you got used to it!
We came home and had dinner....I had put a pork roast in the crock pot this morning so we had roast for dinner this evening. We are relaxing this evening... Bill had to go to the restaurant to lay some tile this evening after the restaurant closes. Hopefully he won't have to work tomorrow since he is working this evening.
So that is about it for this time! I hope that catches you up on our "happening's" here in sunny Arizona! January in the park is going to be busy and lots of activities planned so stay tuned!
Until next time!
