We arrived in Victoria, Texas on Monday afternoon. It was cloudy and cool. By Tuesday morning the rain was falling not hard but steady. At least our rig and truck got "rinsed" off some..... We spent Tuesday doing some shopping and of course a Walmart trip!
Mid-afternoon our friends from Great Bend arrived! We were glad to see them and enjoyed visiting with them. I fixed meatloaf for dinner and we played 3 games of Joker which the guys whopped us good.... oh well...there's always next time!
We left this morning around 8:30 to finish our last leg of our journey south. It was cloudy and cool but no rain.... by the time we arrived in Mercedes the sun was shining and NOT a cloud in the sky! YAHOOO!!! In fact, it got up to around 65 today.... beautiful !!!!!
They have had a lot of rain for this area so our grass site was very soft and we had to park on the cement patio for the time being... and then we will move over when our grassy area dries out.... I'm guessing on Friday...... when we were here before we were about 3 streets north ..... this is an older park and the sites are kind of close together and the streets are not that large.... Bill had to jackknife the rig into the space. Our friends, Dennie and Karen are across the street and down about 3 spaces from us. Other friends will arrive on Friday I think....
The weather forecast is great! It is to be around 75 on Sat. and then turn cooler with a chance of rain again on Sunday...maybe....but we will take this weather!
We will be going out and doing some scouting around tomorrow! Can't wait to get some fresh produce at the flea market!
So we are here and set up for a couple of days at least!
Until next time!

Christmas a day later......
Saturday morning found us getting things around for our Christmas with the kids. We were going to do some after Christmas shopping but we decided to skip that this year and go to Erin's to help her get our dinner ready. After arriving at their house, I made the dressing while she finished getting herself and Lauren dressed for the day. Ryan was out cleaning off their driveway. Their street had not been cleared and it was horrible!
We had a great day with the kids and having our Christmas .... turkey, dressing, potatoes, salads and pie! What a great meal! The turkey smelled so good cooking.... I have not cooked a turkey in the camper yet as I don't have an oven to cook it in.... only a convection microwave...so not sure how it would work! Ryan started a fire in their fireplace and it was wonderful!
Anyway....we had a great day and it was over too quick..... Jeff and Megan left around 4:30 to get home before the roads got slick from being dark. We left shortly after that.
We had planned on leaving the park around 7 this am but it was 9:15 when we left.... we were up and around ready to go and putting our slideouts in we found out they had frozen.... no way were they rolling up. So we worked and worked and finally Bill got them ice free and we rolled them up and headed out....when we got on the highway the roads were clear and free of any snow all the way down. We were going to stop for the day in OKC to see my sister but decided to head on down to Thackerville because of the snow in OKC..not sure if we could have gotten around in OKC or not....
So we are now in Thackerville ....in almost 40 degree weather! the snow and ice is melted and the rig is a mess but not unlike thousands of cars that passed us today! When we get to the valley we will wash the rig and truck...... they will need it badly! Just glad it is free of ice and we are out of the snow and cold! It is cool here but not like the 23 degree weather we left this am!
Our plans are to get to Victoria for a couple of days and relax for a while.... our friends from Great Bend will be making their way to Victoria beginning tomorrow. We will travel the rest of the way with them....
So that is about all that we have been doing! It has been almost a week since we have quit working! What a quick week it has been!
Until next time!

Merry Christmas 2009!
Merry Christmas!
As I sit here writing the snow is still coming down in Topeka! We had about 8" of snow they said but the drifting here in the RV park is more than that! Bill and I have had a quiet day and Christmas eve too! We were going to go to Megan's and spend the night and then go to Erin's for the day today. Well, it began to sleet, rain and finally snow mid Thursday afternoon so we decided to stay home and stay put. We have been here since about noon yesterday. The roads were to bad for Megan and Jeff to be traveling also. Blizzard conditions all around this area. The wind has been horrendous. So what had started out spending Christmas this year with our kids (something I have really been looking forward to) was not to be. We will get together tomorrow for our Christmas, which will be just as good!
We finished with Amazon on Monday night. We left Coffeyville early Tuesday morning and got to Topeka around 11:30 AM. Our experience there was something that we are glad we did and right now we will not be going back but I can't say that in the summer either...... it was very good money and we will see what happens for next fall. Long hours on our feet was hard to take until our bodies "hardened" up or got used to doing it. We met some great people and we really enjoyed getting to know them.
We will be heading to the Rio Grande Valley on Sunday for the winter. Hopefully the roads will be cleared by then and we won't have to worry about sliding around with the 5th wheel.
So without going back to the day by day of the past few weeks that is the "up to date" of what is going on with us!
We hope you all had a wonderful, blessed Christmas and remember the reason for the season...
God Bless you all!
Until next time!

BRRRRR!!!! It's cold outside!
The cold front has arrived here in Coffeyville but no snow! We hope the snow waits to arrive until we are gone from here! I know that is probably pushing it but I can hope!
We have spent the past week doing the following: working 11 hrs. per day, sleeping 5-6 hrs. per day, and that is about it...the afternoon's we spend napping or trying to get caught up on things around here. We haven't really done much else except what we need to because we are so tired from working all night! ha!
When we left work this am at 5AM..the wind greeted us in the face and blew us to the truck..... it was darn cold! The truck said it was 19 but it felt like -19!
We only have about 9 more working days left unless Amazon decides they do not need our "services" early.... we are both looking forward to finishing this job.
Amazon has served us with a meal the last 2 Tuesday's and Saturday..... the first 2 meals were chicken with potatoes, vegetable and roll and dessert..... last night we had ham, potatoes, vegetable and dessert.... the hame was really good.... Friday night we will have pizza...... that is their way of thanking us for our work this year. We also received long sleeved shirts with Santa on the back....
So that is about it for now...
Until next time!

Thursday evening
Good evening!
We are having some pretty chilly weather.... well, downright cold!!! The front moved through a day ago and has decided to stay I guess! Lows have been in the 40's until last night.... about 28 here!
We haven't done much since I wrote last week but work, eat and try to sleep! We did work our 55hr.week this past weekend and week so we are really tired..... we stayed busy Wed. so we could sleep last night and it worked...I don't think Bill or I moved all night.....so we know we are tired.....sometimes around 3:30-4 AM ....we just hit a "wall" and can't focus too much past that time!
We have about 10-11 days left depending on our overtime schedule...... yahoooo!!!! we are both so ready to finish this job and take it easy! We are working on Tuesday night instead of some that are working on Wed. or Thursday night and having a break between those days..we would rather work straight through and have a couple of days off together. Some of the workkampers we have worked various nights with have left for various reasons or another....so our numbers of people are getting smaller. We wish them well and safe travels! We have made some good friends and hope to see them on the road again someday! We have been told by others that sometimes in the last week Amazon will call and say we are finished and not needed back! Pray for that phone call to come quick! haha!!!!
Yesterday after we were up for a little bit we received a phone call from some friends that we worked with in Estes Park, Howard and Karen. They were on their way to their daughter's house in Olathe... we had a nice visit with them and look forward to spending more time with them in the Valley in January!
I fixed vegetable soup last night for dinner and Dennie and Karen came over to help us eat that huge pot I made! It was good and just right for the cold night!
Bill and I went to Joplin, MO. today for the day.... boy, do they have lots and lots of shopping there.... and all kinds of restaurants! We ate lunch at Cheddars..... we ate at Cheddars alot in Wichita and never did get a bad meal there..... just an all round good restaurant. Bill got some more insulation for the water hoses.... we didn't wake to frozen pipes anyway!
Well, that is about it for this time.....
Until next time!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
We are still at it in Coffeyville.....aka..... Amazon.com..... it is hard work and many mornings on our way out the door of the plant at 5AM...we say we are not coming back but after a few hours of sleep and sitting with our feet up we are ready to go back to get the day or night over with! The work is hard but it seems to be getting easier for us to do the work. We are still in receiving and Amazon is still getting merchandise to send to you! It is amazing what all they have and sell .... I had no idea ..you could buy a ream of paper or Rubbermaid kitchen containers at Amazon.com when you can go to Walmart or the Dollar store and get the same thing! Also.... used books from different places like libraries or Goodwill or garage sales! :) haha!!! we have checked in thousands of boxes of new and used books, tapes,cd's and all the electronic games you could think of......
We are working 11 hr. shifts now so we go to work Friday through Monday night from 5:30 PM to 5AM...although we received a call last night that we will go back to 10 hr. shifts beginning Friday night so we will be getting off at 4 instead of 5.....
we usually come home and get to bed by 5:30 and get up around noon..... I feel guilty sleeping past noon but we eat lunch and then take a nap in the afternoon to get rested up for the night..... it's kind of funny because we don't really get tired as such during the night until around 4ish then we "hit a wall' and are so tired and ready to finish the job. We only have about 16 working days left unless we work overtime again which we did last Tuesday...so that made us working a 55 hr. week....
The week of the 11th my sister and brother-in-law came to visit us and were here for 2 1/2 days. We had nice visit and enjoyed having them around. We went to the "Dalton Defender Museum" here. Sandra and I like to go to museum's so we really enjoyed it. They promote the Defenders of the Dalton gang....The Dalton gang robbed 2 banks at one time here in Coffeyville on Oct. 5, 1892..... 4 of the 5 were shot and killed....the last brother was shot but served prison time in California. They have life size photos of the "gang" laid out on the street..... BUT the town emphasizes the defenders or the townsmen who shot them....they do not want to promote that crime pays..... my way of thinking is that without the Dalton gang doing what they did they wouldn't have the "fame of the museum"...... ?????? You decide! :)
We haven't done much in the past few weeks except working and sleeping and eating.... and of course trips to Walmart! We did go to Topeka for the day last week as I had a dentist appt. in the morning and a hair appt.in the afternoon...then we came back to Coffeyville..... we do not like driving in the dark and it was almost 7 by the time we got home. We had lunch with Megan which was great.....
We got up and around yesterday morning and talked about going to the laundrymat but our neighbors were moving to another campground something that has full hookups and 50amp instead of the 30 amp we had at Walter Johnson overflow. We decided to move too as they had spaces open...... so we did laundry and then went back to get things ready to move.We are now at Heritage park. It is quiet here but we lost our "scenery" of watching the highway traffic! We will have sewer now which will be better when it gets colder we can dump water when we need to. Also no more laundrymat! Yea!!!!!
We moved over here around 3:30 and I cleaned and got things put back out and also our 1 tub of Christmas stuff ..... so we have our Christmas tree up!.... but when I plugged it in...the bulb broke so we have to get a new bulb for it.
Today we and about 25 other couples went to a restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner.... which was nice but we didn't get to visit a long time as they closed at 2 and some had to go back to get ready to go to work.... never enough time to visit....
We sat with Dennie and Karen, Ralph and Lorna and Jim and Bobbie. Bill and I had read Bobbie's blog for about 2 years and they are working here...so it has been great getting to meet someone we ready daily! :) Bobbie and Jim are very active in Escapees so we can find out more info. about that since we joined Escapees in Sept.
Well, that is about it for this Thanksgiving...... it was quiet and pretty laid back this year...not sure what next year will bring! I thought about 2 years ago when we were moving some things to Topeka and Lawrence and Megan and Jeff came to help. We loaded an enclosed trailer to take some things to storage on Wed. and also some things on Thanksgiving morning..... I had made 3 pies on Wed. morning before the kids got home. We had decided to have our Thanksgiving on Friday afternoon with Erin's family..... in the hustle and bustle of packing the trailer and hustling around to leave we didn't realize we had left the pies in Stockton until that Friday evening..... also we had ham Jeff,Megan,Bill and I had ham sandwiches for Thanksgiving dinner that year! How funny to look back on that!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving--- we are so blessed to have so many good friends and family all over the country and count each of you who read this as a blessing !
Until next time!

Our first week of working
We finished our first week of working and only have about 6 1/2 weeks to go until we are finished! Yes, my feet hurt or ached at the end of each shift but by the time I got up the next day they had stopped aching. We were both glad to see Monday night or Tuesday am arrive! We even celebrated by going to eat a donut at 4 AM with Dennie and Karen! Then we went home and went to bed!
Tuesday I really felt for quite a while like a Mac truck had ran over me and forgot to tell me about it! But after moving around the day got better...we fixed some fish for dinner and had Dennie and Karen come over...we were all so tried the evening was short!
We stayed the 3 nights in receiving and we are happen about that...we hope to stay there...... we both have finally gotten the hang of it and like that area and want to stay ...whether they will let us or not is in the air yet Iguess..... we have heard beginning on Sunday night we are to work 11 hours daily...we will see how we handle that!
Wednesday morning, we were up and around early as we decided to go to Chanute because Dennie and Karen wanted to go through the Hitchhiker RV plant. It was a small tour and Bill and I could really tell the difference in a Newmar product and the Hitchhiker..... Just the level of quality was evident for sure! We stopped at Walmart. We drove downtown to a restaurant called Main Street Restaurant...it was very good and we had a great meal. It was in an old hotel/...the hotel had 6 stories and was in an old old building. The downtown was really pretty neat area with lots of old buildings but many were also empty..something we have found very common in this area of the state....
Early evening we decided to have some ice cream so we went to Braum's and had an ice cream.
This morning we got up and did our laundry at the laundrymat. There were 2 other couples there that were also Amazon people and we had a nice visit with them finding out different places they had been and what they are doing at Amazon now....we are all in the same boat.... working to make money and then taking some time off!
I have some ironing to do and it sounds like Bill is napping already! His "daily" job.... taking a nap! :)
So that is about it for now.... 1 more day before we head back to the grind!
Take care
Until next time!

We survived our first night!
It has been YEARS and YEARS since Bill and I have "chosen" to stay up until 4AM for "fun"....anyway! So I guess last night was a "test" and we passed with flying colors! Not that we are making it a steady habit after this job is over for sure!
We made it through our first night anyway..... we were sent to "receiving" last night and worked there the whole shift. Receiving is when the big semi trucks back up to the dock and boxes upon boxes upon boxes are unloaded on coveyor belts and "receivers" (us) open the boxes and put the items in the computer and then put them in totes to go on another conveyor to someplace else....I think where they go is where we thought we were going to work...to be "stowed" into bins. So later "pickers" can pick the items for shipping to you!
We each had a computer station and had to enter each item and make sure the "count" was correct for each item in the box. If the tote was "full" aka..... like items in the totes ..then they could be sent onto the conveyor belt to the next step. It wasn't hard work at all and we were able to move around and not really hussle as some have told us they have to. Bill and I are hoping we will be able to stay there.Items are brought to us on pallets and we empty the pallets as we work, throwing the boxes into a bin to be recycled to another box. Right now they are gearing up or stocking the shelves so in about 3 weeks when the ordering is at its max things will be on the shelves and ready to pick and send out.
We had thousands of items to do but there were about 15 or more of us on our shift working. If we had questions or problems come up we had help all the time on the floor willing to help.... they were very nice about helping. Believe me sometimes it seemed a whole box was wrong on the computer and then they had to come in and "do something" to correct it! For example.... I had a box with the upc label that said BBQ sauce and it was a whole box of football team "gnomes"..... someone messed up before we got the box for sure!
We finished emptying a semi-truck and we started on another one so we felt like we did a good job for our first night anyway....we will probably find out numbers tonite. Each shift if started with simple "moving-stretching" excerises and announcements...
We won't know until we get there today where we will go and our "stowing school" wasn't even mentioned..... stay tuned!
Bill woke up early this am and was up and around by 8;30---we were in bed at 4 so I know he will be tired tonite... I slept until about 10:30 this am. Neither of us were really sore this am...my feet hurt this morning when we got home but not when I woke up....so that is a good thing!
So until next time!
BJ
Happy Halloween!
It is Halloween and the leaves are really falling! We had about 1" of rain the other day and they really fell after that.
We haven't done much since going to Bartelsville on Wednesday and doing some shopping. It has a nice shopping area and of course we checked our the mall! It was a nice mall...very clean and stores where I shop! yea!!!! It is about 30 miles from here so its not too far.
Thursday was the rainy day of the week so we stayed home and watched it rain most of the day. I finally called the dr. office and had her prescribed some antibiotics for my coughing... they have finally helped and it isn't bothering me as much at all now..... just dealing with taking antibiotics and how they react to me! (No more needs to be said! :)
Friday I made some homemade sloppy joes for our "dinner" at 3.... we cleaned here again for the weekend. We just hung out until it was time to head out to the plant to work. Everyone leaves about the same time so it is like a mass exodus to go to the plant.
When we arrived, we were early so we were greeted by our "leader" and went to a room to wait until the others arrived. We were then showed how to check in and go through the turnstile and check in. We had been given our badges last Sat. at the meeting.
Everything we do is connected with our badges....they keep track of all transactions or anything with the badge. From my understanding we will scan our badge using a hand scanner before putting anything in bins we will use. Last night was basically orientation concerning safety, loss prevention, sexual harassment for about 4 1/2 hrs. We then walked to an area and did some safety school excerises. Then we walked to another breakroom and had a break. We will be having a break around 8 PM and then "lunch" -half hr.-at 10PM and another break at 1:30 AM I think. Everyone breaks and lunches at the same time and everyone is on the hussle to get there and leave at the same time.
That plant is huge ..... just huge! I have never done factory work and to me it was just amazing what all the items they have! We are allowed to walk the "green mile" area..... where it is taped green on the floor is our walkway....think safety.
After we took a short tour of the area around us we were checked out and left.
We only worked 5 hrs. last night arriving home about 10:20..... We went to bed around 11 as I was beginning to fall asleep in my chair and decided I was going to bed. I slept until about 8:30 this am Bill was up about 7 he said. So we will see how tonite goes. We will work our full 10 hrs. tonite and we are going to have "stow school" and then work on the floor. Stow school is stowing items that have been checked in in bins so the "pickers" --people who use scanners to find the items you have ordered and put them in a bin to send on down to finish the order. They have thousands and thousands of what I would call a library bin/shelving and that is where the items are in. So that is all I know right now.
There have been people leave already who for some reason or another didn't like what they were doing or what..... so if you don't like it you can leave but you may ruin your chance of working at this temp. agency again.
They have about 700 employed in the plant now and there is about 350 of us workkampers there with more to come. We have already been told after Thanksgiving be prepared to work longer time. That is when everything will really gear up until the week before Christmas.
We may not work too hard tonite either ...our "ambassador" told us last night he was dressing up for tonite so it may not be much going on tonite! could be interesting!
So that is about all I know for today and how our first evening went.
Stay tuned and have a Happy Halloween!

Monday evening
It has been an uneventful last few days around here..... we have been working around and on the coach in between doing absolutely nothing!
Saturday morning we spent most of the day around here and just relaxed..I am still not back to "almost normal" for me so I spent most of the day on the couch. We went to our meeting at 6 to meet some of the workkampers and get our assignments. We will be working Friday,Saturday,Sunday and Monday nights from 5 PM to 3:30AM. We will be off Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday all day. That is the same schedule our friends are on now. After November 8 we will work 4 11 hour days and maybe 5. Their numbers or orders are already increased 20% from last year and they expect more this year. We begin on Friday night for a "short night".... 10PM then begin with longer nights on Sat.
After our meeting Bill and I went to the Mexican place and had dinner. We visited with another couple we met earlier who are working on days.
Sunday, we went to church and came home and had some lunch. More naps were taken and Bill watched football most of the day. We decided to go to Sonic for supper and also stopped to get some ice cream at Braum's..... I made a cake yesterday afternoon and my microwave worked great!
Today, I cleaned the inside of the coach while Bill washed and and wiped down the outside. He washed windows again. We had the honey wagon stop by late this afternoon for our "weekly" dumping! :)
We are planning on going to Bartelsville on Wed. with our friends to do some shopping..... I'm making my list to stock up..... not much of a choice around here and the grocery prices are higher than in Topeka for sure!
My coughing is still here but not near as bad as it was...... the extra days we have this week have helped that.
The grandkids are doing better I guess. Erin had a ruptured eardrum and is half hearing. Bryson got some antibiotics for his ear infection. I hope all the sickness will clear up soon...... We are so proud of Erin receiving a promotion of Supervisor! She has really worked her way up with Blue Cross/Blue Shield!
Well, that about does it for this time....
Until next time!

2 posts in one day!
We are in Coffeyville and I will continue my "sick saga"........ haha!!!
We got here around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon and were greeted by our friends Dennie and Karen who have been here a week working already! It was great to see them again!
We found a place to park in Walter Johnson RV Park in Coffeyville.... it is an overflow site but we are on gravel and our elec. so far is great! We have good water pressure but we will be sharing water with 11 other sites if they all fill up. So far only 3 people are here at this overflow area. We will have to probably fill our water tanks up and use the water pump when that happens and when it gets colder anyway. The other RV parking areas are gravel but lower and they are swimming. in their areas when it rains...... we are high and dry here..so this isn't so bad at all. We will have the honey wagon coming by 3 times a week to dump our tanks..... it doesn't cost us anything so this is working out well so far.
After we got set up we rode with Dennie and Karen to look around Coffeyville and find something to eat..... we found a Mexican place and had a good meal there..... we were so exhausted as having to get up early at Erin's and then sleeping on the couches that night before.
Thursday we got around and had some lunch and then they rode with us to Independence to take our 'tests' for Amazon......it wasn't a difficult test at all...we had about 10 pictures of books, CD's, DVD's to find the author, title or what it was to look at. Then we had the "pee test"..... I figured all the meds I had been on might affect the results but it came out clean. So I guess we passed with flying colors! We have a "social" tomorrow at 6 and then find out our shifts times etc..... stay tuned!
After we were finished with that we made a Walmart run and came back to Coffeyville. Independence is about 20 miles away and it wasn't a long drive. We dropped off Dennie and Karen and came home.....
We fixed some dinner and I crashed on the couch early last night and was in bed by 9 after sleeping on the couch most of the evening...I missed Survivor! darn!!!
I am still dealing with this "stuff" I've got but am taking some meds that are beginning to loosen up this stuff in my bronchial tubes.....why always when I get a cold it settles there? The coughing is the worst and I have taken Robitussin and cough drops like crazy...along with lots of water to keep my throat moist. Bill fixed me a hot toddie last night and it helped a lot.
This morning, we got around and went to the laundrymat to do a few loads of laundry. I had most of it done when we left Topeka but wanted to wash sheets, etc.
We met a couple at the laundrymat who are Amazon people too who were from Surprise, AZ. and knew a couple we worked with at El Mirage! Small world!!!! We enjoyed visiting with them... They have a lot at Happy Trails RV Pak in Surprise.... We will see them at the social tomorrow night.
After laundry was finished we ate lunch at the BBQ place here and came home. Bill was looking for some valve stems for the truck...guess we will have to go to Bartelsville where there is a RV dealership.
We have a very pretty spot... out the backside of the RV is a big park with a huge playground equipement. We are parked on a fairgrounds area so lots of buildings off to one side. Lots of trees and squirrels running around. But we would love to see the sun for day or 2..... it has been dreary for over a week or more! It's about time to see the sun! Maybe tomorrow!
The grandkids are all back to their "day spots" today and feeling better from what Megan said this am. She had to go to Emporia today for a meeting. Erin/Ryan will be home this evening.... Erin told Megan she is seeing a dr. tomorrow....
Well, that about catches us up for another time...... I will try to post more often now that we are almost beginning to work...so many have asked about our work...stay tuned so you can "read my whine!"....... I'm sure my leg muscles will be crying loud and clear! haah!!!!
take care
Until next time!

A week of babysitting with sick grandkids.....
It has been a week since we left our last workkamping position in Wichita. We left early Wed. morning hating to leave our friends! We met Jeff and Megan for fried chicken at the Topeka Steak House for dinner. Erin's couldn't come as our oldest grandson was sick...that was the beginning of our week..... We left bright and early by 6:30 AM Thursday am and went to their house to watch Brayden. He was running a temp and coughing.....also not keeping anything down with a headache......
Most of the day he slept but we finally got him to drink some Pedilight....he began to keep something down at least... if only crackers and some 7-UP..... an old standby for me anyway...it always works! We spent the day and early evening with him until his Mom got home. Ryan left that morning for a week's conference in Florida.
Friday morning, we were back at Erin's and had Bryson also...he was running a fever and coughing. Later in the morning,... he was feeling better and Brayden was beginning to feel better. Bill had a dr. appt. in the afternoon. Erin had a hair appt. after work so we were late getting home again.
Saturday ...we spent most of the day at home as I felt like the crud attacking me! I woke up with the gurgling cracking noise in my throat...bronchial tubes.... where is always goes when I have a cold ..... Late Sat. afternoon we went to get Brayden as we were celebrating his birthday from us by going out to dinner and letting him buy his own Birthday gift. He chose to go to Walmart and get 2 DSS games. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Yummy!!!!! He didn't eat much...he still wasn't back up to his normal self yet.
Sunday.... we didn't even get out of the house at all.....I stayed in all day long and slept.... Bill was in and out and went to the store for a few things.
Monday, we were back at Erin's early in the morning as Brayden had to get the bus at 8 and someone needed to be there to make sure he got on the bus ok. Bryson spent the day with us again as he was coughing and not feeling good. Erin had a touchup appt. with her hair on Monday after work so we were late getting home again.
Brayden went to school and Lauren to the babysitter. I had a dr. appt. in the afternoon and she reassured me I had a bronchial infection and to continue taking what I was taking...
It was a pretty nice day Monday in Topeka although windy.
Tuesday, everyone headed to their correct day destinations..... we went to Erin's early in the morning to get Brayden off to school and then came back to the RV park. I had to do a blood test that morning also. We spent the day working around the coach and then mid afternoon we got a call from Erin that Bryson had a temp and we had to go get him. So off we went to pick him up and stopped to get Lauren in the meantime..... she had a runny nose when we got her.... by the time we got home she was fairly warm....we had planned spending the night at Erin's anyway...as she was going to catch a plane to meet Ryan in Florida on Wed. and come home Friday with him. Brayden had basketball practice at 6 PM so Bill took him to do that and Erin ran to Walmart to get a few last minute things after dinner. She was sick by then too.....but she went anyway.
Wednesday morning early (5 AM) we got up when Erin was getting ready to leave and Lauren woke up crying.... she was up a little bit and then went back to bed. WE got the boys up and around and Megan came by that time to take Bryson to school but he was staying home today as he wasn't feeling good and couldn't go back to school until at least 30 hours without a temp. Megan stayed with the kids after we left on Wed. morning. Lauren went to daycare and Megan took Bryson to Ryan's parents for the day. Megan left work around 10 and went back to get Bryson and picked up Lauren too as she was running a slight temp...... we hated leaving all the kids when they were sick but things worked out well..... they are all doing somewhat better as far as I know now!
We left Topeka around 10ish to head to Coffeyville....... the weather cooperated and it only misted on us a few times on the way down here...it is about 2 1/2hrs.south of Topeka.
Until next time!

Rainy evening in Wichita
Well, we are officially finished at USI RV park in Wichita..... we worked Sunday and Monday ..... so now we are done! It has been a busy summer and at times kind of trying but we made it through in good shape. We will miss our friends here in the park but we will see them again soon.
It's so strange to know that in 2 1/2 years we have met so many wonderful people and our whole lives have changed by beginning our "adventure" of RVing.... the places we have been and the things we have seen and done.... not to even mention the people we have met and wished we didn't! haha!!! I think that is why Bill and I love this type of living...we have always loved to travel and we feel so blessed to be able to do this at least for quite a while yet we hope.
Since I have last written we have gone to Topeka the last 2 Saturday's to watch the grandson's ballgames. Last Saturday was our oldest grandson's birthday and so we spent the night and went to watch Bryson play 2 soccer games. It was freezing cold and he was such a trooper.... so cute! After Bryson's games we celebrated Brayden's 8th birthday! Can't believe he is that old! I think the only warm one was Lauren who was bundled and wrapped up like a bug.... she didn't complain about being so bundled up!
We left mid afternoon to come back to Wichita as the park here was having a chili feed for the workkampers.... we had a small number come but we had a nice visit anyway.
This morning, we went to the chiropractor for the last time here for an adjustment and then to Walmart. When I turned on my iron this am it began dinging like a bomb and began to smell hot wires..... quickly turning it off it continued to smell stronger..... luckily I just didn't let it set there and have it plugged in and leave the way I do sometimes..... we may not have had a coach when we got home!
Anyway...a trip to Walmart to get another iron and a few other things. Our other workkamper couple came for lunch while they had to work.
This afternoon we were actually able to relax and "nap" a little bit ..... we went to dinner with our friends, John/Patsy who live here in the park at least for the summers anyway. We hope they are able to make it to South Texas next month. We have really enjoyed spending time with them this summer.
We will leave here in the morning to go to Topeka for about 1 week and it is full of dr. appt. and other "things" planned..... this next week will go fast too I"m sure!
So for the last time from Wichita!--have a good evening! I sure hope the weather straightens out and the sun decides to come out and stay awhile!
Until next time!

It's been that long!
Good evening!
I can't believe its been that long ago since I've written! It seems we have been busy reading other blogs and doing other things so I'm not on the internet much in the evening's so this blog gets put on the "back burner!" for sure! My apologies! We are doing fine and winding up our time here very quickly! We only have a week and a half left here in Wichita. With only 4 more working days left it won't be long at all. Although our calendar is so full with doing something every day until we leave I hope things will continue to go smoothly.
Since I have written last we have made a quick trip to Hays so I could get a cortisone shot in my foot. My foot has quit hurting. We stopped for lunch with our friends in Great Bend and had a nice visit with them.
The girls and little ones drove down for lunch on Sunday, Sept.13. It was great to see them and we had lunch before they returned home. They left mid afternoon so the 2 smaller ones could nap on the way home. We had company on Sunday, Sept. 13 for the week before our camping rally... Bob and Jackie came and we were so glad to see them and spend time with them. They stayed until Thursday when we all left for our monthly camping rally in Council Grove. What an interesting town! So much history was there! We really enjoyed scouting around the town and finding the historical points there. The town has really worked hard to maintain the originality of the town. Did you know it was one of the first stops on the Santa Fe Trail?
Tuesday, Sept. 22 we went to Salina so Bill could get a coritsone shot in his knee. We had lunch with my aunt and my brother,Rick and sister-in-law Gail which was a quick but great visit.... I forgot Rick and Gail had to go back to work...lunchtime just went too quickly!..we may not see them until spring now. .... Oh yea...we worked about 10 days in September! We liked working the 2 days on and then 4 off.
Bill and I went to a botanical gardens here in Wichita a week ago. It was really neat and alot of the flowers were done for the year but so many mums and fall flowers were still blooming...so pretty. We really enjoyed the butterfly gardens and didn't realize there were so many different kinds of butterflies! From large swallowtails to tiny smaller ones!
I also wanted to go to the zoo here but we may not make it.....
Last Friday, Oct. 2nd we drove with our friends John/Patsy to some former camping club friends who live in Hesston. We really enjoyed visiting with them and seeing their beautiful home in the complex where they live. They live in an Independent living community which is a duplex... We really miss seeing them in our club but they have sold their motorhome. We were glad to hear they are planning on coming to the valley this January so hopefully we will see them again.
Last Saturday, we drove to Topeka to see Brayden play flag football and also Bryson has a soceer game. It was on the same sports complex and the weather was great although a little chilly. The boys did great and it was fun to watch them play. They both are getting so big! Of course the wind was blowing which made it cooler. We went to Erin's for hamburgers and then we headed to Lawrence to take some things to Megan's for storage. We drove back to Wichita from their house. Jeff has bronchitus and we decided we didn't need him to share! :)
We worked around here today and got some groceries as we will be working tomorrow and Tuesday.
The month of September really flew by fast! Fall is here....the leaves are turning color and falling from the trees here in the park. We plan to leave here on Oct.14th to go to Topeka for a week.
That about catches us up for now ....
hang with me.... I will be writing more now in the evening's..
I have finished a sweatshirt jacket and put my sewing machine away for now.... still more projects to finish but no time for now!
Until next time!

time to catch up again
It has been a beautiful week as far as weather is concerned...a few days of storms or cloudy cooler days and some rain....but otherwise it seems like fall is coming soon!
The past couple of days have been just gorgeous and the clouds have cleared away and the its so nice to be outside in the morning and evening's. Hope they stay that way for a couple of months actually!
We have worked our 4 days the past couple of weeks and have made a trip to Topeka last weekend for Lauren's 1st birthday. It's hard to believe she is 1 already and almost walking around. She is so happy and loves to crawl and trying to walk... just not quite confident yet about taking those first steps.... she can really go hanging onto something but not by herself! We left Sat.morning and got to Topeka by noon. Saturday afternoon was getting the party ready.... Ryan smoked some pulled pork and it was delicious! Everyone brought something to go along with that so we had a great dinner and then the cake! Lauren's babysitter makes their cakes as a gift to her so Lauren had her own birthday cake and she had made a butterfly cake and a flower....she did a beautiful job and Lauren dug into her cake with both hands ! She was so funny and loved the cake! That little girl got a whole winter wardrobe in gifts! She shouldn't need any winter things!
We left Sunday morning after church to go to Megan and Jeff's. We hung out with them all of Sunday and left Monday morning to go back to Topeka. We had lunch with our friends Bob and Jackie and then began our trip back to Wichita. We had a great weekend with the kids.
This weekend begins the "sports season" for the boys.....Brayden has a football game tomorrow and Bryson is playing soccer this year.... they have a couple of Saturday's that they both have games... that could prove interesting how they will manage both!
So we will be going to Topeka tomorrow for the day to watch Brayden play flag football at noon. We will come home tomorrow evening as we have to work Monday and Tuesday.....
Bill has been working here at the park doing some odd jobs like weed eating and also began to caulk the windows of the office. He is going to paint the office sometime when in the next couple of weeks.
Well, that about catches us up for this time...... we have been taking it easy some days and of course always running to Walmart for something! Exciting huh?????
Until next time!

Tuesday evening
Today was just a gorgeous day! I thought when we walked this am it was going to be a cloudy cool drizzly day but it cleared off and was so nice and comfortable all day.
The park has slowed down some and so last Saturday at work was kind of slow but steady. It was quiet in the evening with no late arrivals...... like it when it is like that.
Sunday we went to church and then met John/Patsy at Jimmie's Diner for breakfast. After that we came home and just hung out here for the day. Jimmie's Diner is an old Wichita establishment.... looks like a 50's building. The help all dress in poodle skirts and hair tied back with chiffon scarves. The food is excellent and they ALWAYS have a crowd there....all day long. Just a neat place to go.
Monday was laundry catch up day here. It rained some in the morning and a loud thunder storm went though about 9. In the afternoon I finished Lauren's quilt so it is ready for her this weekend.
Today we went for a walk in the morning and sat outside and relaxed a bit before going in and having some breakfast and getting ready for the day. I loved sitting on the deck at our house after walking and drinking a cup of coffee before the day began. We had some errands to run this am.... I found a used book store and so I took several books to trade and found a few I was looking for. More to read! :)
This evening we went to eat Mexican with John/Patsy. After eating John drove us around some of the downtown areas of Wichita. We sure have enjoyed their company this summer.
We have tomorrow off yet and I need to finish getting Lauren's gifts ready to go for the weekend. Not sure what else will happen tomorrow....
Stay tuned!
Until next time!

Friday again!
This month is just zipping by..... I keep thinking about school starting and realizing it this will be "4 "school years" since I have had to really "think" about school stuff!
We haven't been doing a whole lot here this past week really. Our days at working have been busy and it makes the day go by much faster. We had several of the "Wichita Open" golfers here this past week. A couple of them had been in the office when I was and were very nice to visit with. So we have been watching them in the paper. Not bad earnings for a weekend of "play"...hahah!!!
A group of construction workers are just about to finish up their job here and are so anxious to get out of here and either go home or onto another job. They should find out today if they leave or stay another week...... I know how they feel about being ready to leave and have to stay!
We are down to about 9 weeks left here and Bill and I are really getting anxious to get on the road and do something different! I KNOW I am!
The owner has 2 little kittens or now becoming terror cats that are in the office and they are a mess! I can't stand the cat hair all over and flying around let alone them crawling all over the desk and in my face and the customers faces! I am embarrassed when they do that and they are not my cats! I have never been a cat lover and have tolerated these cats and our friends cats but these cats need to learn some "manners" dealing with customers! Ok...I have vented and I feel better ...... One of the other workkampers lets them roam all over and feeds them so when I work or one of the other couples work they have to learn all over again!
We made a day trip to Hutchinson on Tuesday to get a pan handle or knob for my pots and pans that I have had since the early 80's. It is a lifetime waterless set and I have most of the pans stored but the slow cooker is what I use quite a bit and the handle had desingrated..... so we contacted a man here who used to sell the sets but he called the place in Hutchinson where it started. So we found the place and got a new handle for nothing! We stopped for lunch and then went back through Yoder to a neat little quilt store there and then back home. Nice day for a little trip.
I have been working on our granddaughter's quilt this week and finally got the binding on it and now to finish it up before her birthday next week! Can't believe she will be 1 year old next week! She now has 4 teeth that have finally came in and I can't wait to see her and the rest of the kids next weekend. One good thing about this job is that we are able to see the kids quite regularly even though it is a 2 hr. drive yet.
Most of our Newmar friends are either traveling yet from the rally or heading home soon.....anxious to visit with some of them and hear all about the fun time they had last week at the International Rally in Goshen, Indiana...... maybe next year we will be able to go too.
We only worked 3 days this week and they have been spread out all week...beginning with last Sunday and Wednesday and this Saturday...... kind of nice to have day between but next week we will be working on Thursday and Friday and then off for several days.
Enough rambling for this time!
Until next time!

Wednesday August 5
Saturday morning found us driving to downtown Wichita to the famer's market at "Old Town". It is an older part of Wichita which is downtown. They have a square blocked off for people to bring their produce to sell. We were pretty disappointed in that there wasn't much there at all. Late Saturday afternoon we drove over to our Newmar friends home for a great BBQ dinner and a game of Joker. The guys won but we had a great visit with Lynne and Dale.
Sunday after church we went out to eat breakfast and then came home. We spent the rest of the day at home and Bill fixed "Beer butt chicken".....it was really good. We have not had that for quite a while. We also made a Walmart stop and Sam's.
Monday I cleaned the house really well and finally got my laundry done. Bill worked around the park doing some painting and helping out there.
I cut out some squares to make Lauren a small K-State quilt for her birthday. I made the other 2 boys one for their birthday's.
Tuesday, we got up and around and drove over to Independence and Coffeyville to check out the area. We stopped at Express Pro Employment agency to see if anyone was there. It so happened that Mark the manager of the Agency was there and so we got to meet him and visit with him about the upcoming job. For lunch we drove into downtown Independence and found a restaurant called, "Uncle Jack's."..IT was very good. It must have been an old dress shop of some kind in its day. The ceiling was the old tin decorated sheets. We sat on a "balcony"..... aka.... the showcase area in the front of the store. Kind of a neat and different atomsphere.
Today Bill and I ran some errands and he is now outside doing some weedeating around. Me..... I think its time to sew! :)
Until next time!

Friday evening
We worked yesterday and today....it has been a long day today.....we had about 8-10 come in and a few of those did not have a reservation. Bill and I are continually amazed at how many people just stop in and do not have a reservation and expect to have a site for them . The park is full and we have only 2 spaces left..... not counting the people who called about a half hour ago and have yet to show up.
But the good side of this is that we are off for the next 5 days! We are beginning to see people heading home from vacations. I'm sure that they will be going home and then the middle of Sept. to Oct....more snowbirds will be moving around heading south! Isn't that the way it is with RVer's??????
This week has been kind of quiet..... last night our friends who are workkampers also asked us to come to their "house" for a BBQ with another couple. We had a nice supper and a great visit. The other couple had worked at Deer Creek RV park in Buffalo,Wyoming when we went to Gillette, Wyoming for the Newmar International Rally. We had stopped there when we went through a couple of years ago and didn't realize it was them! Now is that a small world or what????
It has been really nice here and is supposed to stay that way for a couple more days before turning hot again.... guess it is still summer in Kansas!
Well, this is about it for tonite......
Until next time!

We are still alive and kicking!
Good morning!
We are still around and the weeks continue to zip by! It has been over a month since I've last written and I know many have probably quit reading or checking.... I don't blame you..... but we are still here working in Wichita.
We have been doing some 3 days "shifts" and by the end of the day we are so tired it is hard to get on this computer to do anything! We worked over the July 4th weekend. Erin asked me if we did anything special on the4th and I told her we worked and were in bed asleep by 10:00! Exciting!huh?
Last week on July 17 Bill and I went to Lawrence to spend the weekend with Jeff and Megan. They bought a different house so we were excited to see them and the new house. It is a split level and huge! They have so much more room and we helped them install new light fixtures and cleaned out their garage ( most of it was our storage boxes from the shed at the other house). All of our "stuff" is now in their basement in a storage room with shelves...so nice and they will have plenty of room to fill it up now! They will be closer to work as it is also on the west side of L. and so their driving time will be about 15-20 min. less now. They are glad about that. Jeff has his own "man cave" he calls it.... aka...the downstairs family room. :)
Megan and Jeff graciously offered for me to take her car and use it while I was in Topeka for 3 days. So we drove to Erin's on Sunday morning. I spent Monday-Wednesday with Erin and Ryan's babysitting Brayden and Lauren. Lauren's babysitter had a week off so I stayed 3 days with her and then her mom stayed with her the rest of the week. Brayden was such a great help and was so good. I really enjoyed spending time with them all. Wednesday, Bryson and Lauren and I went shopping and bought him some "school clothes". I took Brayden and Lauren on Monday to find a few things for school so of course we had to go shopping with Bryson. Brayden was at golf lessons. After that we picked up Megan and had lunch at the Pizza Hut and then she brought us back to Erin's house and then she took her car. After Erin got off work we left to go meet Bill in Emporia at the rest area. It saved him about 50 miles from coming all the way to Topeka to get me. Lauren was so good and we got some great "grandma" time with all 3 of them. She will be celebrating her big "1" year old birthday inAugust..... hard to believe she will be 1 already. She has finally gotten 2 bottom teeth and the 2 top ones are poking through also. She is also just about ready to walk by herself....
While I was gone Bill took our laptop into the "hospital" he called it. It was getting slower and slower and when we had been typing anything it was not show the typing but we had wait for it to catch up. The guy took everything off, including 28 viruses, and reloaded some things back on it. We are going to get a bigger flash drive and put the pictures on it and see if that will help free up some space.
Our friends who live here have left for the Newmar International Rally in Goshen, Indiana..... we would have loved to go with them all but our working will not allow us to be off that long. Maybe next year.....
We are both doing great and begining to count down our time here in Wichita. 2 1/2 months and we will be done. Not sure what we plan to do for next year yet..... stay tuned! :)
So until next time!
Take care and keep in touch!

It's HOT in Kansas!
Hi again,.... time to write and catch you up on our "happenings"....... we have been working our 3 days a week and actually have had 4 days off in a row.....we really enjoy having these days off. We do not have to work 3 days in a row but usually 2 days and then off a day or 2 and work one....
Father's Day we worked but Megan/Jeff came down to Wichita for a conference they were spearheading for work. They came about the time we were off work so they had dinner with us and visited. It was nice to have them here. They have had a busy week this week... they got possession of their house today! I'm anxious to see pictures of it.... it will be about 15 min. closer to work for them and double the size of the house! Lots more to clean, right? But we are happy for them. They will leave for LasVegas for 10 days to see Jeff's parents and celebrate Megan's 30th birthday on the 7th! Our baby is 30!
This afternoon late we rode with our friends here in the park, John/Patsy to Yoder and met Ron/Nancy for dinner at Carriage Crossing. Carriage Crossing is a wonderful place to eat and all the food is "Amish homemade"... they are noted for their fried chicken and homemade pies! YUMMY!!!! Of course we all left full....it was a great visit.
Bill has been busy weed eating around the park and I have trying to stay cool and sew! I got my "Arizona" placemats done and also finished another small project yesterday. Now I think I might be ready to get started on another project that is a wallhanging from Thimbleberries in 2004! Yes..some of the things I started then and just didn't get finished....Luckily I only have 2 or 3 of those type of projects to get done! I'm catching up on "old things"....
Tomorrow I hope to get some cleaning done for the week as we have to work Friday and Saturday but will be off Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at least...we do not have the July schedule yet.
The weather has been so hot so we have tried to get our running done in the morning and have been almost hibernating in the afternoon.... and complaining about why we are NOT in Colorado in the mountains! But I guess this is good "harvest" weather and the forecast is for dry hot weather.... But it is hot and so Humid!!!! Something we have not been in for a couple of years and we have really noticed it lately! Guess we are getting soft! haha!!!
Well, that is what has been happening with us.....
Until next time!

Sunday evening...catch up time again!
We have had a busy couple of weeks....we have worked some days in a row so that seems longer than usual...... Boy are we glad to turn the "reins" over to the others when our time is up! The park has been steadily full and others coming in and out to fill those spots.
We returned to Wichita today after being in Topeka since last Tuesday. We had our "state camping rally" beginning on Thursday but we had the days off so we went early. We thought we would be able to see Brayden's other ballgames this week but rain washed them both out. We did get to see his game on Saturday morning.
We had a great time visiting and catching up with 52 of our "closest" friends! We had a wonderful week! Bill and I both played in a bean bag tourneyment on Friday afternoon. He won 2nd place out of 10teams! Saturday afternoon we played in a "Joker" (card game) tourneyment and we didn't do so well! Oh well....we had a fun afternoon playing.
This morning after breakfast we went to see Erin/Ryan and kids before we left. Getting one last "grandparent fix"..... not sure when we will see them next...it may be in a month. Lauren finally got her first tooth! When Erin took her to the dr. for a checkup the dr. said she has about 6 ready to come in! What fun that will be!
When we pulled out of the park this am..... we met coming in some friends from Estes park who are doing some traveling this summer! We had not seen them for 2 years! We had a great short short visit and learned they are going to come to Paradise South this January! That will be great!
The day traveling was so nice..no wind and not much traffic..so we made it in good shape with our friends who are here also... John/Patsy.... they are in our camping group and live full time in their motorhome.
So that about catches us up for now....we do not have to work Monday but work Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
Have a good week!
Until next time!

Our work week begins
Good morning!
Our work week begins after have about 4 days off. We got some things done around here on Thursday and Friday. Saturday morning we head to Topeka to watch the "little ones" while Erin/Ryan went to KC for the evening and spend the night. It was a great weekend and we enjoyed staying with them. They all 3 had changed...Brayden getting taller and more "grown-up"..of course Bryson is now in the -4-5 yr. old in the daycare/preschool he goes too. He was so proud of that accomplishment! Boy it doesn't seem like he is "little" anymore! Lauren has changed in looks some but is crawling and pulling herself up all the time now. She still doesn't have any teeth but they look like they are there. I'm sure they will come in all at one time!
Brayden told me he is reading this blogsite now! And repeated some of the things I had written...so Brayden this is for you! :)
We took the kids over to their other grandparents house to swim late afternoon Saturday and had a great visit with them. We always enjoy spending time with them.
The boys are really good swimmers and Bryson is becoming more confident swimming all the time. They will go to swimming lessons in a couple of weeks. They can probably swim better than their grandma! :) I tried treading with a floatee with them and it was hard to keep my legs moving..so I know I am out of shape for sure!
We had the day off yesterday so we worked around here and I cut out some fabric for my "Arizona placemats"..... by the time evening rolled around we worked on deciding where we are going for sure next winter in the Valley of South Texas. I'm calling today to make reservations.
It has been rather warm here this weekend and today it is to be cooler and a chance of rain... maybe it will settle some of the dust/dirt that is blowing around.
We go back to work today for 2 days and then off a day......
so we had better get ready to go.....almost time!
Until next time!

work week begins
It is time to catch us up again..... the month of May has really flown by!
When we got home from the rally and the weekend we worked 3 days that week and the rest of the time was just spent around here. We did make a trip to Topeka on the
13th as I had an eye appt. to see if they could "fix" the new glasses I got. After seeing the dr. he said I needed a different pair. The frames were too big and the lenses because of my prescription was too thick. I could have told him that! Anyway, we picked out new frames and we will pick them up this weekend. We saw Megan at the eye dr. and then I had a hair appt. that afternoon. We visited with the kids for awhile after they came home from work/school and then we headed back to Wichita. That Saturday, the 16th we drove back to Topeka for Bryson's 4th birthday party. After spending the day there we arrived back here in the evening.
We worked the 17th/18th then having the rest of the week off basically. I finally got some sewing done. I ordered a new small sewing table that is working just great!
Got the placemats done I bought in Alaska. (only a year later!)
We had some close friends drop by for the weekend. Gary and Angela were on their way to South Dakota for the summer. They left El Mirage on May 8 and have been making their circle to see their kids. Friday evening, 10 of us met at Cracker Barrel to eat dinner. It was nice seeing 2 Wichita couples here that we met in Arizona.
We worked Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and had the other 2 days off....so we are working today and tomorrow then off for the rest of the week actually.
We plan to go to Topeka on Saturday morning as we are babysitting for Erin/Ryan while they go to KC to watch a ballgame and spend the night.
The park has been really full and it seems it mostly "monthlies"...people staying a month or longer. I know we all pumped a lot of propane for BBQ grills this weekend!
So that about catches us up for this time!
Until next time!

a cool cloudy Mother's Day
I know I know...it's been almost 2 weeks again before I have last written..... we were in Hutchinson last week to our Newmar Regional rally. We had a great time amid all the rain and more rain we received! Not sure what the sun looks like or when it will decide to stay around for more than a day or 2.
Last week in Hutchinson we connected again with friends from Texas and of course our friends who have wintered elsewhere last winter. It was nice to visit with them all. We drove to Yoder to scout around Yoder one afternoon and then met the group at Carriage Crossing for a family style meal of fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, bread, salad and of course pie! We all waddled out of the restaurant. That place is such a treat to eat there..... Yoder is an Amish community south of Hutchinson. Very very small community but so interesting to go to. They have a fantastic furniture store filled with ALL solid handmade furniture from Ohio and Pennsylvania.
One afternoon we were treated to an old movie at the refurbished Fox Theatre in Hutchinson . We saw a movie made in 1958 (I think) with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez...called "The Long Long Trailer".... they had just gotten married and bought a long pull trailer to take on the road and moved to Colorado.... we RVer's can really connect with some of their early experiences! Bill kept nudging me at certain things! haha!
We were in a Joker tourneyment one evening.. Joker is a card and marble game we play with our group..it was fun and we played with a different set of rules.
We left Friday morning and got back to Wichita around 11. Our friends who live here in the park and another couple came back with us. We went out to eat lunch with them. We had to work Saturday so they ran some errands in town while here. They were to attend another camping couple's 50th wedding anniv. that evening.
Our day was sooo busy at the park. We had several rigs coming in to stay as they were insurance adjusters coming to adjust from the rains we have had in the area. They will stay for a month or more. The park was almost full last night and is that way again tonite. We will work Monday,Tuesday and Friday of this week. We are making a trip to Topeka on Wednesday as I have an eye appt. and hair appt while there. Not sure what we are doing on Thursday as of yet. We work Friday, Sunday and Monday of next week.
So far it is going very well and I am beginning to remember what we did using the same system in Estes Park. If it fills up with monthly's we won't have many overnight spaces for rent! The other workkamper couples are very nice and we have had some nice visits with them.
This morning after we took the phone back to the officebecause we are on call until 9 AM the next morning we went our friends over to Lynne,Dale's house to have breakfast. Dale cooked breakfast for us all! We had a great visit and it was much nicer than going out! When we came back Larry/Sherry/Doug/RuthAnn loaded up to go their homes and we made a Walmart run. We also stopped for a mid afternoon lunch at a Mexican place called "Monterray Mexican Grill" ....it was pretty good. When we got home we finished putting our "house" in order and I finally got my quilt top done! It is now on our bed! It looks great!
I went over to the office to visit with Wanda and by that time Bill came over and then the other workkamper couple, Frank/Sondra came in (other workkamper couple) so we stood there and visited for quite a while till almost closing time.
We are just relaxing this evening...... The kids have both called and I was glad to visit with them.
So that about catches us up for this time......
Until next time..hopefully it won't be so long!

Saturday morning in Wichita
We have had an extremely busy week and been on the road across Kansas..... We left Tuesday morning and drove to Great Bend to have some warranty work done on front end cap. Last fall when Bill was waxing the front end he noticed an air pocket in the cap so we had it approved to have it fixed this spring. We also had a 2nd AC unit installed... we didn't have one put in when we ordered it not thinking it would make a difference in the AC in the main area and bedroom...well it did and since we are going to be in "HOT Kansas" in the summer we will need it. It works great!
We met our friends in Great Bend and enjoyed 2 full, fun days of visiting and playing Joker with them. The women won both nights and we loved it! What sore losers the guys were! haha!!! We always have a great time with Mike/Jeannie/ Larry/Earlene.
We also had dinner Tuesday evening with our friends, Kim and David. Kim and I taught together in Stockton our first year of teaching..we had a wonderful meal of grilled steak and enjoyed the time catching up with them and their remodeling of a huge, old house in Great Bend. It is beautiful and will be wonderful when it is all completed. We left Great Bend yesterday morning in the south wind to come to Wichita getting here around noon.
We will spend the next 5 1/2 months here in USI RV park in Wichita. We will be working approx. 4 days per week. I will work in the office and Bill will be doing maintenance around the park. It is a very small park compared to Elk Meadow and Pueblo El Mirage. This park has about 60 spaces and very laid back..... we are anxious to get started. We will work tomorrow and follow the other workkampers around for a couple of days to get their routine. It looks like they have quite a few that stay permamently so it should be too difficult.
It is cloudy today and supposed to
rain.....at least we have a storm shelter we can go to!
I have baked some banana bread this morning.... Bill said the bananas I used were about as bad as they could get so it will be good bread! :) haha
Well, that about catches us up for this time.....we are settled for a week anyway as we are leaving next Monday morning to go to Hutchinson for a Region 3 Newmar camping rally.
Until next time!

Busy weekend
Guess what! I am writing again sooner than before! :)
Saturday after the baseball tourneyment was cancelled I decided to go to the mall and spend some time looking for a few things....having found 1 thing I came home and relaxed a little bit. We decided to go out to eat Mexican for dinner and stop and get some groceries after.
Sunday morning we worked around here some and then had a late breakfast as we were going to eat a mid afternoon lunch/dinner. We left to go to our nephew's son..... great nephew's 1st Communion at 1 not realizing we WOULD NOT find a seat! Megan came over earlier in the morning and she had a stop to make at the mall so she left early and was to meet us at church. We found Patty/Cecil and Darrin and stood with them throughout the service. We left after Caleb made his 1st Communion to go to their house as Erin's family came and Bryson was asleep on my lap and my arm was now numb from holding him. So we went to Dennis/Stephanie's house and had a nice visit and dinner with all of them...and of course forgot the camera...no one took pictures of the kids ---big or little!
We came home and watched TV the rest of the evening.
Today we are meeting kids for lunch and dinner.... Megan and Jeff at lunch and Erin's for dinner.... quite a mix of food we will have ...Mexican for lunch and Mongolian for dinner!
I have started doing laundry and want to get it all done as we are leaving tomorrow sometime for Great Bend. I also have a small quilt I want to cut out today and we are also taking Darrin to the airport in KC sometime this afternoon so I had better keep moving so I can get it all accomplished!
Have a good Monday!
Until next time!

Finally getting caught up
We have had an extremely busy 2 weeks or week and half! Since I last wrote we both have had doctors appts. and watched Erin's little ones -made a quick dr. trip to Salina, had Easter, and spent each day this past week at Erin's watching Lauren. Her babysitter was on vacation this week so we got up extra early and were at their house by 7 or before each day. They make me tired seeing their schedule and trying to keep up with them not to mention the weather hasn't been nice and Brayden hasn't started his weekly baseball schedule!
We had a great week watching our little granddaughter and enjoyed spending time with her and the rest of the kids-big ones included! She is pretty spoiled now and will definitely have an "adjustment" waiting for her at the babysitter! We got lots and lots of "grandma lap time" this week! :) She was or is getting over a cold and was kind of fussy and runny nose along with it. We thought maybe she was cutting teeth but didn't see any yet. Such a cutie and she looks so much like her mom did! Erin told me it was like seeing herself 30 years earlier! :) haha!!!
So far all the dr. appt's have checked out ok for us....hopefully that stays that way!
Our time here in Topeka will end in a couple of days and then we head to Great Bend to have some warranty work done before going to Wichita next Saturday for our job stint. Looking forward to seeing our friends in Great Bend and Wichita and catching up with them. ---oh yes...working too! haha!!!
Our good friends, Bob and Jackie, left on Thursday to fly to San Fransisco (sp??) for 2 weeks to watch grandkids so we will not be here when they get back.We have had such a great time with them and will miss them terribly not being close by.....
Well, that about catches us up for this time and hopefully things will slow down so I can write again...... sooner... (I've said that before haven't I???)
Until next time!

A cold Monday afternoon
We survived the chilly weekend and the cold weather is still here!
We got set up and went to Brayden's baseball game Friday night which they lost. This was a double elimination tourney so they got to play now until they lost. He played at 10:30 Sat. AM and then at 1:30 and 6.... they lost the 6PM game and were just exhausted little guys! If they would have won they would have played at 7:30 also for the championship..... alot of games in one day says Grandma and Pappa! ;) I watched Lauren for the 6 PM game and Erin came to get here after the game was over...It became cloudy and cool and it rained around 6:30 or before so the game before was delayed some... it just got colder as the day went on.
Sunday morning we went to church and stopped at the store then went later in the morning to Erin's for lunch..... and some catching up with them..... They were all tired from the day before so we didn't stay too long.
Our small room heater went out that morning so we decided around 5 to go see if we could find one at Bed,Bath and Beyond. We did and it really helped last evening.... the furnace with the propane doesn't run as much.
This morning Bill got up and around early and went over to Erin's to stay with Brayden until he left for school at 8. They have to leave around 7 or so to get to their jobs so usually Ryan's dad comes to stay for an hour... I didn't even hear him until he shut the door to leave at 6:45.
When he came home, we ate some breakfast and then got around. I went to the mall to see if anyone had any winter leftover coats on sale.... well, they didn't EVEN have any winter coats! So I stopped at Walmart and got groceries and came home. This afternoon we have just goofed around here.... we moved the chairs and couch around and we are still deciding if we like it or not. It does seem to make the room look larger but only one recliner fits in the small slideout space. So we will see.....
We have made chili for dinner and then watching the NCAA game tonite.....
so we have settled in around here for now just waiting for it to warm up now!
Until next time!

It's still windy in KS!
We have had a busy week and the internet service in Texoma was sporadic so I wasn't able to write as often as I wanted to!
We made it to Texoma around 2 Monday afternoon...we stayed over in Albuerqueque an extra day due to the weather farther east. Bill was able to fish although the wind was a factor each day.We had a great time with my sister/brother-in-law and our friends there. We left early Friday morning and stopped in Wichita to visit with the owner of the RV park where we will be working and also our friends there. We arrived in Topeka at Deer Creek RV Park around 5ish..... just in time to have some dinner and then onto to Brayden's baseball game. It was cold and windy during the game..... but they lost so they played again this am.
Saturday morning we were at the game around 10:30 and they have been able to win the last 2 games today they have played. So as I write this I am watching Lauren here at the coach and he is playing another game. If they win this game they will play for the championship tonite. He told me it would be for the "national championship"..... he was so excited and has been such a busy guy today......
It is cold and it has rained and the wind is really blowing. Lauren is sleeping and is out for the night I'm sure. She is kind of weezy so being out in the wind is not a good thing probably. Anyway.... she and Grandma have had some "laptime' today. :)
It is good to be back in Topeka with the kids and Megan/Jeff came over this morning to watch the game and we had lunch together.
Well, Lauren is stirring so I better finish this up in case she decides to get fussy....
Until next time!

It's evening in Amarillo
Well, I wrote last night and then the computer decided it didn't want to cooperate so it disappeared!
We left last Friday from Phoenix and drove to Albuerqueque...on the way to Albuerqueque we heard weather reports of the snows in this area....so on Saturday morning before we unhooked we checked the road conditions..... I-40 was closed from outside of Santa Rosa to the Texas line..... we decided to stay another day in Alb. and leave this am.... we are glad we did as we got to go downtown to "Old Town" Albuerqueque and walk around at the old buildings and shops..... such a neat area.
We found a Chili's for dinner and came home..... watching the games on TV....
This morning we left bright and early and wondered how much snow we would get into but the roads were fantastic! They were all clear and not much snow to speak of at all...only in the higher hills and ditches were small amounts...... But the wind began to blow when we were almost to Amarillo. Boy did it blow! Gusts to about 47mph..... The RV park we are at is very nice and we have a huge space...... It's called the Amarillo RV Ranch...... nice nice park!
We will leave here early in the morning and get to Texoma around noon we hope.....we have about 350 miles to go..... the wind is supposed to blow again tomorrow so we will want to get an early start. Stay tuned! The traffic on this highway is alot of truckers and RV's..... mostly from Minnesota!
So that about catches us up for this time and its time to relax awhile.....
Until next time!

Our final day at work
It has been so long since I last wrote and now our time here is just about to end. Last week Erin/Ryan and family were here and we had a fantastic time with them. We went to the zoo and they went to a couple of Spring training baseball games. We swam almost every day and just enjoyed spending time with them. The week of course went by way too quickly and they left early Thursday am for home. They arrived home on Friday afternoon..tired and ready to get out of the car I'm sure!
Saturday our friends, Bob and Jackie and us drove to Sedona for the day. The day was beautiful for a drive and we had a wonderful time. Sedona is just beautiful and the scenery and weather was just perfect!
Sunday after church we met Bob/Jackie at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Then we came home and Jackie and I went to see the performance of "Cavalia"....it was amazing! It was a Cirque DelSol only they used horses to tell the story of the relationship of man and horse throughout time..... They used 49 horses throughout the show.... it was a wonderful 2 hour performance! Also that afternoon we had a workkamper gathering and of course the wind blew like crazy..so by the time I got home most people were heading home also..... too bad we didn't have more of them throughout the season..... it was a fun time!
We are finished working now and have gotten things lined out here for our trip back to Ks. We had the carpets cleaned and have things put away. Our plans were to leave on Thursday morning but the weather doesn't look the best for traveling tomorrow so we are staying another day and try to leave on Friday instead. Stay tuned!
We had a great time being with our friends here and are going to miss them next winter! We have decided not to come back to this park next winter.... we are going to try out south Texas again .... stay tuned for that!
So that about catches things up for now...the weather is great and we are going to eat lunch and then see what we need to finish up here for the day.... We have plans with our friends this evening for dinner.....
Until next time

Windy Monday in Arizona
We had a nice visit with our friends from across the valley on Sat. We drove up to Wickenburg and went to the Museum ..... that is such a nice museum. We hope to see them again in Coffeyville in Oct.
Sunday after church we had a couple of errands to run and then came home. We worked around here and I made some S'mores brownies to take to a Ks. potluck over at a friends park model. There were about 6 couples and we had a nice time with brats and the other "stuff".....
Today after work I went to the Sewing room until about noon. I am working on some placemats that I got the fabric kit in Alaska. They are going together pretty quickly. Bill and I made a run to the post office and then stopped for lunch at a pizza place called Streets of New York. It was excellent pizza!
This afternoon I had some things to do here and then cook for the potluck we went to around 4ish.... it was called "1st Street Potluck"..... the whole 1st street was invited and there were more people there we hadn't met. We only knew about 4-5 couples there.
This evening I have worked on making a quilt on a computer program I have for the sewing room. I hadn't worked on it for quite a while so it took a while to get it to come back to me ... but I think I am on the way to have it done....
So that is about it for now.... Bill is just hanging around here and keeping things going while I am running about !:) haha!!!
Until next time!

Saturday morning
Well, the week has gone by and we are warp speed down to the end..... we left last Friday morning to spend the weekend in Yuma with Charlotte and Andy. We had a great time with them. After lunch last Friday we went to the "Flea Market"..... they call it the swap meet..... it was a great flea market and some very nice things.... of course some things came home with us..... Friday evening we went to Paradise Casino for dinner and came home and played Joker. We left for our motel which was across the frontage road...so it was nice and close by.The Motel was nice and clean....
Saturday morning we went out for breakfast and then to Mexico for our meds. Funny how Algondones looked just about like Progresso ..south of Texas..... we got our meds we needed and then walked around a few blocks before heading back across the border. It only took us about 45 minutes to get across and the line was beginning to get pretty long. Saturday afternoon we relaxed awhile in our motel then went out for dinner and ice cream! :) We played Joker again.....
Sunday morning, Andy, Bill and I went back to the flea market to get some fresh produce and a couple of other things we thought we couldn't live without. Heading home around 1 we got back here around 3ish......
Monday, I sewed while Bill worked . I started working on some placemats I bought in Alaska..... another project going to maybe get done while here! I counted up and I have completed 6 things down here this winter....
Tuesday morning after work I ran to Walmart to get some meds and a few groceries. After lunch I went to ceramics and Bill had an appt. with the truck. Tuesday late afternoon we ran a couple of more errands and then went to our favorite Mexican restaurant to eat dinner.
Wednesday, I went back to the sewing room and stayed for our noon meeting. Bill had someone come and work on the trailer brakes to check them and do something else so he was busy too. It was cooler and so we didn't go swimming as we usually do on Wednesday's. We went out to eat dinner with Bob/Jackie before our Joker night on Wed. night.
Thursday, I had to go back to Walmart to get some meds that wasn't ready the other day. When I got home I went with our neighbor to find the Bealls Outlet place. We found a couple of things each and came home. Darrin and Christina came for "Beer Butt Chicken" for dinner.... It was nice to have them come for the evening....
Friday right after work Jackie, Angela and I went to another RV park that was having a Vendor Fair....It was at Happy Trails RV Park and they had a HUGE vendor market...some really nice things and tons of people..... the park is really nice too. I was really impressed with it.
We got home around 1 and spent the rest of the afternoon here at home. We decided to go to the movie last night and saw "Madea Goes to Jail"...it was a good movie and I like Tyler Perry..... Did you see Oprah yesterday that he gave her and her friend Gail a Bentley convertible????? wow!!!!!
Today, our Estes park friends, Rod/Jane are coming over and we are going to do some catching up with them .... that is our plans for the day.....
We have 2 potlucks to go to on Sunday and Monday..... not sure what the rest of the week will bring......
Stay tuned!

I can't believe...
It's the last few days of February! It has been so nice and the forecast for the next week is the same! All in the 80's partly cloudy and no wind! :)
Monday evening we grilled outside and then watched KU vs. OU....what a game! I don't like to watch sports that much EXCEPT during the college basketball this time of year and of course March madness!
Yesterday morning we did our work jobs and I came home and spent the morning at home doing things around here and also sitting outside before Bill came home at noon.
I had ceramics in the afternoon so I am almost finished with my "projects" I have been working on. Not too many more times for me to go to ceramics so I need to wind down my projects... When I got finished and came home Bill was at the pool..so I joined him there. We relaxed and swam or "floated" awhile and then came home.... we sat outside and decided what to fix for dinner. After dinner was our usual evening with the TV and recliners....I know most of you know where this is going! :) NO more comments! :)
We have a busy next couple of days before our weekend is here.....
Until next time!

Monday evening
So now its time to back up again and let you know we have been busy and here and there!
The show and tell quilt show was a big success! There was a steady and full stream of residents from the park coming through most of the afternoon. For the first time doing this I think the ladies have made a big hit! They are already making plans for next year and not having to work so hard as a "regular" quilt show would be!
Thursday morning after work Bill and I stayed around here for most of the day but we did make a Walmart run. Darrin came by for a visit after he got off work and stayed for dinner. It was nice visiting with him ....we hadn't seen him since Christmas when Megan/Jeff were here.
We both worked on Friday until 9 AM and then we had a few errands to run. We came home midafternoon to spend some time outside. Our neighbors behind us invited us over for a happy hour with them and another couple... we were outside until almost 7 when it became pretty chilly.
Saturday morning our neighbors behind us and over one RV and us went to Mesa to the flea market. They hadn't been there and so we rode with them. We had a great visit and was able to get to catch up with them . They work in the Leisure home sales so they are not really part of the "park" workkampers as we are but they are still workkampers. It was a nice day and we had a great time. We also went to dinner with them....
Sunday morning Bill worked outside and I cleaned the inside and did laundry most of the day. I think I'm caught up for a few days!
It has been so nice and getting warmer here all the time... it was 82 today! Hopefully springtime in Arizona!
Today after work Jackie and Jeanne went with me to take my quilt to the quilter! I'm so excited to have her finish it! It is finally finished and I know she will do a beautiful job quilting it. I will get it back right before we leave.
Bill and I spent most of the afternoon outside and we had company come by off and on until dinnertime.... its so nice to have friends drop by and visit with them. We will really miss that ... so many nice people here!
So that about does it for now....
Until next time!

Tuesday morning
Good morning!
We have had a busy last few days and the days are becoming quite a roll down to the wire!
Last Thursday we went to work and then went to get groceries again! Boy it seems we go to the store alot but eat out more! :)
Friday morning after I worked, I went to the stain glass room and made another plate. It hasn't been fired yet because there are so many people making fused jewelry . The class was pretty busy most of the day and I quit around 2 and came home. We sat outside and then our next door neighbors came over and we visited for quite awhile before deciding to go out to dinner. We went to a Mexican restaurant very close to here we really like but they hadn't been to.
Saturday morning we worked around here and then mid afternoon we went to the Hays' for a Valentine BBQ with 4 other couples. We had a nice meal which everyone brought their own meat to grill and we furnished the "other stuff"..... We got home around dark as Bob/Jackie were going to the dance that evening. We had pork chops Bill marinated in grapefruit juice and something else! It was really good!
Sunday morning after church we came home and stayed here until around 1 when we went over to Hays' again as we were having our camping group (Newmar Sunflowers) gathering. There are 9 couples in the valley here for the winter so Jackie got some chicken and we all brought the rest.... We were worried it was going to be raining but the day turned out great! It did become cool towards the evening but by then it was about the 6 of us and we moved inside and then came on home. We had a great visit and it was nice seeing them again.
Monday morning after work I went to the sewing room to finish a topper I had been working on. Bill worked until 11. After lunch we had some errands to run and then came home. Bill went to the hot tub and I sat outside in the sun and put the hem on the topper. After dinner we went to a free movie here at the park called "Swing Vote" with Kevin Costner... the movie was just ok and the chairs we sat on were terribly hard!
This afternoon the quilting group here at the park is having a "Show and Tell" from 1-5PM. Everyone is bringing things they have made or are working on and it will be like a quilt show. Anxious to see what all everyone brings. I am taking my king size quilt top that is done, the topper I just finished, placemats I made earlier this fall, and a Christmas quilt I finished, and a Christmas wreath.
Bill has been working on his stain glass outside when he has time and likes going to the pool when the weather has been cooperating.... we were supposed to have rain this morning but it came through earlier or went North.... anyway..it is gorgeous out and is it supposed to begin to warm up now.... almost 80 by Thursday and Friday!
Our friend, Angela Gish, has been doing water aerobics in the afternoon so I go and do that while Bill sits in the hot tub and swims.
Well, that is about it and I need to get things finished up here.....
Until next time!

Wednesday morning
Tuesday was such a busy day it became a blur!
After work I had a "retouch up" hair appt.... she didn't put "enough" color on my hair last week so I caught her yesterday and she was able to work me in so I have more color now! Looks better!
We ate lunch and then Bill decided he needed to go to the Stain glass store so we went over there and he got what he needed and I picked up some more glass to make a couple of plates I had made.... Hurrying back.... I had ceramics at 1 and it was already after 1PM ..... I went to ceramics and finished my planter...the final color is on it and it is being "fired" now.... hurray! Anxious to see how it turned out!
Bill was napping when I left and when Icame home at 4 he was working on the stain glass project he has been working on....
At 5 PM.. we picked up Bob/Jackie and went to the Mexican restaurant we like to eat dinner. After that we met our other friends for a game of Joker for the evening..... Jackie was my partner and we won 2 of the 3 games we played!
Coming home I thought sure we would be able to watch the finish of Westminster Dog Show was over by then.....
It got pretty cold here last night..down to about 37 I think....
It's warming up now and it will still be cool today around 58 or so I think...... what do I know though????
Until next time!

Monday Feb. 9
It has been a cloudy, cool, rainy couple of days here in "SUNNY" Arizona!
The weather forecast says it may last a few days mixed with 1 or 2 sunny days thrown in...... the high's today were about 56!!! pretty cool for now I think!
We went to see the movie" Taken" with Liam Neeson... very good but it is probably so true it is scary...... when we live in the US like we do we don't think about what is going on around the rest of the world and the black market capturing of young girls is very real in other parts of the world..... so scary!
Sunday we went to the grocery store to pick up some meat to add for the freezer and for a late lunch early dinner for us! We have grapefruit on our tree right out the back door so I squeezed some grapefruit to boil the ribs in and it turns out a nice "citrussy" taste.....
I started reading a book I was reading and began another one that just came out by Susan Wiggs... I really like this author!
Bill took a couple of naps and messed around here most of the day and had dinner. We didn't do much most of the day except stay close to home. Oh...I did go to Joann's and Bath and Body Works .... that was the exciting event of the day!
After work this morning I came home and did a few things around here. After lunch I went to the sewing room to sew for the greatest part of the afternoon. I finished making a "topper" I started a while ago.... going to get it quilted soon. Bill had to go get more propane as we have to run the furnace again.
It is almost time to start dinner and then the evening watching TV...what else is there??? Monday nights are "funny shows" night and also Westminster Kennel club dog show starts tonite so I hope to watch it!
That is about it for now..
until next time!

Saturday afternoon and the sun is still shining
It has been over a week hasn't it????? I was "reminded" this am I hadn't written on the blog site lately so thought I had better catch up......
Last Friday we spent the day around here and I didn't go to stain glass as the class was buzzing with people and not much of a space to breathe let alone sit and work.... so I played most of the day..
Saturday morning we decided to go to Mesa to the large flea/swap market with Bob/Jackie. We left around 9 and walked almost all the way through it purchasing just a few things. We didn't get to the last aisle so we decided we will have to go back sometime else. They had a nice quality of things and its not a "junk" market for sure. We made it back to go to church at 4 and then the 4 of us ate dinner and then to the movie "Mall Cop"...it was funny and sometimes kind of dull.....
Sunday, we got up and around lazily and then went to the new Sam's in Surprise so Bob/Jackie could get a new TV for the inside of the MH. They put the other one outside to watch it outside. I fixed Queso hamburger dip and chipsfor the super bowl gathering at the Hays' RV.... There were about 8 couples and we watched the super bowl outside until about half time and it got colder..... even with Jack/Connie's portable fire pit it still was cool. We came home and watched the rest of the game.... we really were hoping the Cardinals would have won that game.....
Monday rolled around and I went to work early so I could get off at 9:30 because I had signed up for a quilting lecture from PBS TV's Quilting with Kaye Wood..... she was really interesting and shared funny stories.... She is a winter resident in Sun City and summers in Michigan. She of course was selling her wares and showing what she used the rulers with her quilts.
Tuesday, after work I came home and hung out until after lunch when I went to ceramics to continue painting on my flower planter...it's almost done and hopefully this week I can fire it to finish it. We went to a different Mexican restaurant with Bob/Jackie and Charlie and Jeannie from Wichita. It was really good and not to far from us at all... called Lupita's Restaurant. We all then went to the card room to play Joker with the rest of the group which has been growing steadily .... we had about 16 playing that night...it was a fun night..
Wednesday was a usual day but I bought tickets for the Mexican dinner at the park that night.... they served fajitas so we had Mexican 2 nights in a row... I think we are caught up on our "Mexican fix" for a couple of weeks!
Thursday after Bill got home from working we went to the chiropractor for me... he popped me every which way but loose and I had a massage....I was really sore and tired the rest of the day so we just sat around and relaxed.... I slept on a different pillow and that has seemed to help....
Friday after work I came home and cleaned .....no stain glass today again....
We hung out here for most of the day and around 5:30 we left with 2 other couples who are workkampers and went to an Italian restaurant in Sun City...It was nice and the food was really good.
This morning we decided to go make a few stops at Sears to pay a bill that I couldn't pay online as I had to wait 6 business days to use since I opened the online bill pay the day before. Why wait 6 days to use it???? Makes no sense to me!
We stopped and finally had a Dunkin' Donut! and then went to Walmart... and home. We are going to church late this afternoon and to eat out if the time permits and then to a movie with Bob/Jackie...so that is what has been going on with us....
We are doing good and hopefully the weather will warm back up again...we have really enjoyed the nice warm temp's of earlier this week... 80's ...can't complain about that! It looks like it could rain but so far no rain just clouds ..it is only 67 here now so guess the cool front if here...
Have a good weekend!
Until next time!
