Today I will finally catch you up on our travels. I will begin with a week ago Sunday the 16th....
We went to breakfast at the Legion with Joe/Bev and then went back to the park and just hung out for the day.
On Monday, March 17th:
We rode over to the Keys and caught a trolley to ride up to the tip of Anna Maria Island. We got off the trolley and looked around and walked out to the pier. Deciding to find someplace to eat and not finding exactly what we were looking for we got back on the trolley and rode down to Holmes Beach area but didn't go far enough! So back on the trolley and back up to Anna Maria and finally found a restaurant with a table outside so we could watch the ocean and the huge boats on the Tampa Bay. The day was gorgeous although somewhat windy. Then we drove to an Irish bar called "Clancy's" to meet Joe/Bev..... we found them fairly easy enough although there were about 250 people who were already drinking and we "Irish" haha!!! We had a good spot to sit and watch the people and the bands, singers and cloggers in the tent. We had found out our neighbor at the park who was a part of an Irish bag pipes group was playing there also. After staying for about 3 hours we decided to leave before it got too dark. That was a fun day!
Tuesday, March 18 we drove down to Siesta Key to look for some shark's teeth.... we couldn't find any and only found the beach was packed with about 1 million people it seemed! It was sooo windy so we didnt'stay long and came back to the park.
Wednesday, March 19 we went to the flea market and a store before we left. We got back around 11 and told Joe/Bev goodbye and left for Ocala. We decided to stay one night in Ocala since it was too storm at Bradenton on Thursday am. It was great to spend some time with Denny/Karen one more time.
Thursday am was a very pretty day for traveling and we got a good start on our journey north. We spent the night at a really nice RV park called Sunset King Lake in De Funiak Springs, Fl. We will have to remember that one because they hired work kampers and was soo nice although it would be cool to work there in the winter.
Close enough to Ft.Walton Beach and Pensecola.
Friday am we got an early start and met my sister/brother-law at Meridian, Miss. around 1. We then traveled together over to Jackson, Miss. Boy the roads in Miss. were horrible and bumpity bump we made it..... nothing was too upset inside the rig .... thank goodness!
We decided to go ahead and leave early and get to Texoma on Saturday so leaving Jackson at 7 AM we were back on the road....we were all exhausted even Sandra and I only co-piloted! We were glad to be here and even had spots for us.... thank goodness because they have a 1st come 1st serve policy here! So we are set for the week!
Easter Sunday we met our friends at a restaurant in Madill at a BBQ place that had a buffet for lunch. So we all filled our plates and left full! The rest of the day was spent just hanging out and relaxing! In the evening 5 of us played a new card game we learned in Florida called "golf"..... it was a fun evening.
So that is what we have been doing and hope you are all well...
keep in touch
until next time!
BJ
