We got to Edmonton Friday around 1:30 and got set up.... It has been nice to be parked for a day or two. I think everyone needed some down time. We decided to grill hamburgers outside and it was nice to sit outside and actually visit over supper!
Saturday morning found us just relaxing part of the morning and Bill and Andy worked on their kitchen light he put in and also on the water pressure valve.... Now they can have more water pressure. Don/Connie and us went to the Edmonton Mall for the day almost...we got there around 11:30 and walked around and saw the different things besides all the stores in the mall. It is the largest mall in the world with a water park, galaxy land for kids, Ice palace, a sea lion show which we watched and a huge Pirates boat... it was really neat but I'm not sure what it is called! CRS is here to stay! We came home and just relaxed for awhile and Don/Connie was nice enough to fix supper for us.... our contribution was the potatoes and cake I made yesterday! what a deal! We sat around and visited and made a decision to see if we can stay one more day to relax. Charlotte, Connie and I walked to the office, all of our spaces were open so we are staying one more day here and leaving on Monday.
Our camping club, Newmar, is having an Alaskan caravan to Alaska and some of the couples arrived today. So Bill and I went over to the group to say hi and visit with a couple who we met in Branson a few weeks ago. They are here until Wednesday when they leave and will almost follow our route we are taking. So we may met up again with them somewhere "down the road."
Not sure what the plans are for Sunday beside just relaxing...we didn't see any Catholic churches close by so not sure if we will make it to church or not......
We are kind of outside of Edmonton and its about 5-7 miles into the city part .
The weather has been great and it was very nice and warm today.
Its after 10 PM and its still pretty light outside! Guess we had better get used to that, huh?
Well, that is about all for this time....
take care
Until next time!

What a day we had!!!
Good morning!
I started to write last night and got to a point and then had company so it didn't get posted.....
We had quite an experience yesterday on our crossing into Canada.... we got to border around 10ish and began to get in line....we were in the middle of our group. Don pulled in and zipped right through so when we pulled up we were asked the questions and we were then told to pull over and park the unit. We had no idea what was going on..... we were going to be inspected!!!!! Andy zipped right through also.... So we waited over 6 hours for our name to be called. Of course during the time thousands of things go through your mind...what did I say ....what didn't I say.... what are they going to do etc...... We were then told to pull over to the garage that held 3 bays. There were 2 with through doors and 2 trailers were in there before us and they were packed full to the door tips so they had to go through all of them ...well, one of them had to practically unpack everything but the other was waiting for an xray machine ..we found out later..... anyway...... we pulled into the garage and the doors were shut. We had to open all the bay doors and then open the slides and go into another room. They looked all over the truck and into the coach. They found the booze we had and went right by it. We were told on the ticket the gal had written rifle too high on the top so that is the reason we were inspected ??????? We told them we didn't have any weapons at all...... they weren't concerned about the booze at all. So in about 10 minutes we were done and told we could leave. So about 2:40 we pulled out and headed on our way to Calgary. Andy's and Don's had left shortly after we were pulled over and went to a Carriage museum.
When we were on our way I called Charlotte and told her we were on our way..... lo and behold....they were just on their way too...so we met them within a bout 2 miles of each other. So we proceeded on to Calgary....
We found the Flying J and decided not to go toWalmart but stay in the Casiono parking lot for the night. It is in a pretty nice area and we even went to Flying J for supper..... a late supper.
We will drive today to Edmonton and spend the weekend..... the weather has been fantastic...even got up to about 75 here yesterday.
So that is the events of the day.
Until next time and hopefully a calmer day today!

One more night in the USA
We are now in Great Falls, Montana. The drive today was gorgeous! We left Buffalo around 8:20 this morning driving about 30 miles to Sheridan and we stopped so Andy could get his CPAP machine mask. We drove north to Billings then took a 2 lane road to Roundup and Lewiston. It was gorgeous drive and the clouds cleared and the road was excellent! We got to Great Falls around 5 and found the Walmart and are dry camping again tonite. The street beside us is a busy street so we will probably hear traffic noise most of the night.
We plan to go to Calgary tomorrow and spend the night dry camping at our favorite place~~ Walmart! It isn't too far so it should be a short day.
We all decided not to go to Banff and Jasper area right now due to probably more snow in the area than we really want to deal with right now.... it will be warmer on our way home.... so ......
We have made reservations for a campground in Edmonton for 2 nights this weekend and we will catch up on laundry and check out the largest mall in the world!
I started crosstitching some pillowcases on the way today and am almost finished! I told Bill he needed to find the smooth part of the roads as my crosses were sometimes jumping around! haha!!!
We saw more antelope today and just some picture postcard pictures! Snow on the mountains and just rolling hills of the Rockies..... some of the area reminded me of the area outside of Estes Park.... sagebrush/ rolling hills....aka.... foothills of the mountains....
So until next time!

Monday evening
We made it to Buffalo, Wyoming about 11 this am. We drove in cloudy and very light rain but only saw snow on the mountains in the short distance. Bill's aunt and uncle told us that it was down to 32 last night! It is to be down to about 38 here tonite!
We can tell spring is just not quite here yet....the trees are just beginning to bud out and the grass is so green and pretty.
We drove over 500 miles yesterday and we were all exhausted. We got up and ate breakfast at Perkins before leaving Casper. Diesel was cheaper in Casper ($4.38) compared to any other place we have seen so far. We will be able to make it into Canada before needing to refuel again.
On the way here we saw lot of antelope.... some of them were females with tiny tiny babies with them..one of them we thought was a newborn because Mom was just cleaning it up..... also in a valley we saw a pack of coyotes chasing a critter..... it was amazing ... 2 spread out in front and 2 spread out in back....nature at its best!
Another first for us!
After we got here today, we visited for awhile and then Don/Connie and us went downtown and walked around the town..... it is an old historic cowboy town. There is an old old hotel which is still in use today called The Occidental Hotel. Some of the famous hotel guests were Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kids, Calamity Jane, Herbert Hoover, Buffalo Bill to name a few. It is so neat to walk through and the huge bar is still like a saloon and still in use! We walked through the whole building by ourselves and never did see anyone to help us if we needed someone! Talk about trusting! haha!!
We then drove through their city park and had to compare it to Stockton's...the swimming pool is one of the largest we have ever seen and its free! They have a large playground and other areas for the city activities.
When we got back we got together for happy hour somewhere.... we visited about what way we are going and what we can see and do....we think now it may be too early to go to Jasper and Banff area because of the weather..... aka.....snow still may be up there...... stay tuned!
We are leaving here in the am and going to Great Falls before stopping for the night and then Wednesday we will cross the border! We are all looking forward to it!
So if the weather will cooperate we will be moving each day for a week or more....we decided to try to dry camp in Walmart parking lots or comparable every other night. Our generator worked after Bill did something to it last night and we were fine.... Don/Connie "braved" it last night with no heat! I think they were so tired it didn't matter what they had.... their weeks of "activities " have caught up with them......
So until next time....hopefully the battery in this is charged up now that I can use it tomorrow evening....
Until next time!

Monday evening
We are in Casper Wyoming for the evening. We got here around 5:30 this evening. We are all exhausted and tired after leaving early this am.
I wrote this before and didn't push post it....so now to do it over again and the battery on this is running low. The charger or plug is in in the slide out side and we are in a Walmart/Sam's parking lot with no elec. Bill is having a problem with the generator so this may be short for tonite.
It was cloudy most of the day today and we didn't run into rain until we got to Scottsbluff, Ne. then it just misted heavily the rest of the way here. The radio said it may SNOW this evening....it might get pretty cold in here tonite!
Well, my battery is about out and Bill is hunting paperwork and needs some help... what good can I do???? :)
Think I will find my book and curl up for the evening!
Until next time in Buffalo!

The journey begins......
Good evening,
Since Friday afternoon we watched the boys all day Friday and their parents got them early evening. Our friends came over after supper for awhile. We will definitely miss them over the summer. We can always find something to chat about.
Saturday am early Topeka had a storm move through.... Megan and Jeff came over around 11 and then Megan and I went over to Erin's to do some last minute cleaning for her surprise birthday party. Ryan and Erin had gone to KC to do some shopping so the plan was that we could get the cleaning done and his parents and sister came later to set up the party. They arrived around 6 and she was definitely surprised! She said she really didn't have a clue it was all planned.... she was suprised to see us and of course tears flowed..... she thought we had left that morning! We had a nice visit with everyone.
This am we went back to say goodbye again and visit with them a little bit.We got on the road around 11:30 and got to Stockton just in time before the storms hit in the area. We got here around 4. It was great to see our friends and know we will have lots of time to catch up. Our friend, Connie has just retired from teaching Kdg. so she has not had time to relax and enjoy her newfound freedom. She worked all morning in the yard and then trying to get the camper ready besides. We rode out to Webster lake to see their son and daughter-in-law for a little bit and also to see their new to them 5th wheel camper. After that we went back to their house and the guys routed our route for tomorow and Connie and I did some last minute things for her. We got home around 9 and it began to rain..... sounds like the rain is over for right now but storms are all over here...... glad we got here when we did. We are down at the fairgrounds and not at the park as it was completely under water yesterday and we were afraid if it rained again we might get stuck.
Well, we are on our way for our life's dream or a "bucket list" of ours...heading to Alaska... thanks to everyone who has written and sent emails..... we really appreciate it and look forward to staying in touch.....
take care and .....
until next time up the road!

The weekend begins.....
I have meant to get online all week and catch everyone up to speed on us but the week has zipped by.
I did get the jeans patched and a spool of thread later they were done and I told my son-in-law they should be called "no more" jeans.... no more patches...he is going to have to throw them away next time!
Wednesday, we did some shopping and last minute getting things for the trip. We met Erin/Ryan and the boys for supper as it was her 30th birthday. We ate at a restaurant called "HuHot" ....it is a Mongolian grill. It was very good and I guess Bill nor I knew what it was..... excellent food. It was served as a buffet style but you picked the food you wanted and then they cooked it for you..... very good..... we will have to go back there to eat again.
Thursday am Bill met Erin at a quick trip to pick up Brayden as he is staying with us for a couple of days since he is out of school. In the afternoon, we made a trip to Lawrence to take a final load of clothes and pick up the little freezer for the trip. Then we hung around here until time for the "big kids" and Bryson to arrive for supper. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for supper. Bryson then joined Brayden for overnight.
Friday am we slept in and then Bill and the boys helped him empty the tanks. Then we finished getting ready and went to drop the "blue boy tank" over to Erin's to store. After that we met Megan at McDonald's for lunch. The boys got to play on the equipement after lunch. Our next stop was Sam's then home. Bryson is napping now and I'm going to get my laundry finished up.
We are getting things ready to head out this weekend for Stockton and are hoping we have good weather and no storms to drive through.....
Stay tuned....

Tuesday am
Good morning!
This week is going to be countdown week...... one week from today we should be heading north to Buffalo Wyoming!
So let's back up a day or 2 or 3...... Last Friday, after some laundry was done and I ran a few errands, Bill and I went to watch our grandson at his field day at school. It was an organized afternoon of games outside.... something different than we had at Stockton. We picked him up from school and then went to his house so we could fix supper and then we brought the boys home with us for an overnight stay.
It was such a gorgeous evening the boys played over at the playground across the street for a while. They were exhausted by that time and it was bedtime.
Saturday am Erin and Ryan came over to get Brayden because he had a game at noon.
We were outside most of the morning and then went to the game. It was hot and no wind...we all got sunburned. We came home and spent the rest of the day at home. Bill and I went to McB's for supper of Glory Days Pizza. If you haven't had Glory Days pizza..its worth the trip! Very good...nothing like Pizza Hut!
Sunday am Megan came over as Jeff was playing golf in Topeka with his boss. So she came over early enough to go to church with us and then we went to the new HyVee grocery store! Wow! what a store!!! After that we stopped by Erin's to say Happy Birthday to the birthday boy Bryson who was 3 on Sunday! He was so cute and just wasn't sure what the day was about! :) We came back home and fixed beer butt chicken on the grill for lunch. Jeff arrived by that time and we had lunch then.
Brayden had a ball game at 3 so we left for the game. It was still hot but the wind was blowing softly so it wasn't too bad. After the game we went over to Erin's for supper and the birthday party for Bryson. Of course too much food and lots of fun for the little ones. It was a good day all the way around.
Monday, Bill left in the morning to go lay out the tile for Erin and Ryan's bathroom. I spent the morning at home cleaning and doing laundry. When he got home I had some errands to run and left to do them. When I got back Bill was fixing our lawn chairs as the legs have torn holes in the carpet mat outside. After that our neighbors, Bob and Jackie and Bill and I went to eat at Paisano's Italian Restaurant for supper. It was very good and even better than Olive Garden. We usually went out to eat on Wednesday nights but since tomorrow is Erin's birthday we had to change our plans. Bob and Jackie are moving to her sister's house this week so we had to eat together one more time before we leave!
Tuesday am.... I have done some more cleaning and just organized "stuff" around here..Bill is working over at Erin's still and I have a pr. of jeans to patch and some shredding to do....that is the extent of my day. Not sure what will happen the rest of the day...I may have to cook tonite! YE GADS!!!!
Have a good Tuesday!
Until next time!

Is it Friday again???
Good morning!
It seems I have more time in the mornings lately to write so here goes the recap for the week for us!
We have spent the past week doing lots of sorting and just "better" arranging of "stuff/must have's" in the coach.
Last Thursday we spent the day at the coach and just hung around here. (See I told you our lives are "boring!) I guess helping my tooth heal was the order of the day.
Friday I made an appt. to see the dentist again because my tooth felt loose. After having that checked out we made a Walmart stop and came home.
Saturday late afternoon, the boys came over to spend the night. Brayden had a game at 6 PM so Ryan and Brayden dropped off Erin and Bryson. The game was called because of the rain just as we drove up. We took the boys to Sonic for supper and came back home.
Sunday we went to church and then Erin and Ryan came over for lunch. We had a nice time with them and we grilled Padre Island shrimp from last year. Boy it was delicious! No other taste like that huge shrimp! YUMMY!!!!
Later that afternoon we loaded some things up to take to the shed and then went over to Megan/Jeff's for supper. They fixed fish from Lake Texoma for supper. It was delicious too! So we had quite a "fish" day that day!
Monday, we had some errands to run over on Wanamaker and went to Sam's and a couple of other places. I did some sewing and made a trash bag that sits on the table beside my sewing machine. Bill piddled around outside and visited with the neighbors next door.
Tuesday was another "coasting" day....not much happened around here besides the usual routine.
Wednesday, Bill helped or went over to Erin and Ryan's to help him lay tile in the boys' bathroom floor. I stayed home and it was my turn to "piddle"...... Since it was our Wednesday evening outing for supper we decided not to do chicken this week but went to Texas Steakhouse for supper and then came back and played Joker for the evening with the guys winning most of the games this time.
Thursday am I had a hair appt. and so I dropped Bill off at Erin's to work on the floor. Ryan was off too so they got the floor done. They will begin on their bathroom floor next week. Megan and I met for lunch at Panera Bread as she had to make a Sam's run over her lunch hour. Then I stopped at a couple of places over there while I was there not finding too much of anything. We got home and late afternoon our neighbors decided it was 5 o'clock somewhere so we sat outside and visited with them until almost past supper time! We fixed a late supper and then watched TV the rest of the evening.
This morning we are hanging out here and doing some laundry and Bill has begun dumping water with the "turd toter"..... I am catching up with you! We need to go to Walmart and back to Hobby Lobby for the errands of the day!
So until next time!

Thursday am
Good morning!
It is a nice day today and we didn't get the storms they were predicting here for the past couple of nights. We did get some rain on Tuesday night..of course Bill washed the truck and front of the camper so it would rain!
I had my dental appt. on Monday and then did some shopping. Bill likes to piddle around the camper and visit with our friends next door. He is happy doing that!
Tuesday, was the day I got my back tooth pulled and I am glad its done and over with....it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be but the tooth broke off horizontally and so it wasn't the wrong decision to have it pulled. Even this am my tooth or jaw is sore but he sure pulled my mouth around.....
Tuesday evening we went to our grandson's Kdg. class program.... we were only there about 40 minutes..... he did a good job singing and they are all so cute at that age! We are very proud of him.... hard to think he will be in 1st grade!
Wednesday, I sewed on Bryson's quilt and got it mostly done. That took all afternoon and I finished it this am. We went out to eat with our friends for Topeka Steak House fried chicken all you can eat night. That is our Wednesday night "outing".... we brought enough home for a meal. Then we played Joker game until it was time for bed.....
Today, like I said,..I finished the quilt and then started to pack some clothes we are not taking to Alaska with us....can't do much until we take them to the kids house. Megan is coming for lunch and then I'm not sure what is happening in the afternoon.....stay tuned!
So that is about it for the week.....
Until next time!

Monday in Topeka
We are now in Topeka once again. We arrived yesterday afternoon in time to go to our Grandson's baseball game.
Let me go back a few days in Branson.... Friday afternoon we went on our Branson Belle cruise but didn't leave the dock as the winds were really blowing. But the meal and the show was good. Then back to the campground to get ready for the Louisiana "group" made homemade jambayala and everyone else signed up to bring the "other stuff"....it was delicious! At 7 that evening we were go to a show called Pierce Arrow. The group consisted of 6-7 members singing and a comedian. The show was really good and we are thought the comedian was hilarious!
Saturday am was a hosted breakfast and then we had our club meeting. After that a group of ladies and I went to a store called "Dressin' Gaudy"....it was "interesting" to say the least.... now if you know me...you know I don't get out of the box too often but the jackets that were there were so pretty and too many to choose from. They had jackets, shells, jewelry to match. All of us picked something up at least. :)
Saturday afternoon then we went to the Yakov Smirnoff show. It was good but the first part was disappointing. He really speaks from his heart and the second part of his show was good.
Saturday evening we went out to eat for supper and then Bill and I played card bingo. It was fun and easy to play using cards and nickels.
We got an early start on Sunday am to head home. We arrived early afternoon and made it to Brayden's ball game in good time. He even pitched and did a good job!
Sunday evening we went out to eat a sandwich and then came home and visited with our friends parked next to us. We were glad to see them and catch up the week with them.
This am I had a dental appt. so that is done for another 4 months! YiPPPPPEEEE!!!
Well, this about catches us up for now.... have a good day!
Until next time!

Friday am
Here it is Friday morning already! We have had a busy week in Branson.
Tuesday we spent the day running around and doing some shopping at the outlet malls here. Found a few things we couldn't live without. Also eating out quite abit.
We have enjoyed visiting with our friends and catching up on the fun and laughter we always have when we get together.
Wednesday the "official" day of the beginning of the rally. During the time we checked in I helped my friend sell raffle tickets for the Klub quilt our group of ladies made last fall. The drawing will be held at International Rally in DuQuoin, Ill. in June.... we will be in Alaska then!
Thursday am we spent the morning here at the park.... looking at the new rigs that were brought down and then Bill went to a maintenance seminar and I sewed a label for the quilt mentioned above. In the afternoon a "garage sale/craft sale " was held so we sold some used paperback books and a few things we had underneath that we didn't need anymore. Last night's supper was within walking distance so we walked to the restaurant and had abuffet for us..It was very good!
This am the talk was the storm that came through early this am...luckily we didn't have any damage but the trees dropped lots of leaves and "stuff"..... hopefully that is the end of the storms for today. We are to leave in a few minutes to go on the"BRanson Belle Cruise"..... so that is what is happening with us....
Until next time!
