Tuesday.... a week later

I know I am way behind in posting but here goes a catch-up! It hasn't been an exciting or "wandersome" week for us anyway. We have gone back to the large flea market in Marion on Saturday and grabbed a late lunch early supper at a really good bar/grill nearby. The food they bring you for the price is ...well.... fantastic! We split a roast beef sandwich last Sat. and we both had plenty.. for $5.79!!!!

Bill has worked around the rig and got a few maintenance things done on the truck so he is in 7th heaven when he can "piddle". It has been fairly cool still so I guess I just hang out and do whatever! I have finished the 3rd of a series of books I've been reading and now I need to get the last 2 for the series. Thanks Linda from Estes park for the author... this series is really a good author!

We found the church finally and so went to church on Sunday am.... I hate that early time but we made it anyway. We have driven to another campgrounds and looked around and comptemplated moving to another park in Feb. but decided we will stay here for the next month then move farther south for a week or so in March before the spring break crowd gets here.

Last Wednesday we went back to the Villages to eat supper with a group of people who are friends of our friends. The part of the Villages we went to was by a lake there and it was mostly of the New England architecture! So quaint and looked intersting... we didn't walk around this time but will go back and spend the day there sometime before we leave. We ate at a restaurant called ... "Gators"... we had "garbage nachos".... something like the Nacho Supreme at The Taco Shop in Hays. Chips under beans, onions, salsa, cheese and peppers.... it was great! I also had a bowl of New England Clam Chowder.... it was delicious! The Villages is a fun place to go and explore and it is so big..... I was told it had a population of 80,000 by itself......so neat! When we go back I'm taking my camera!

So that about does it for the week...nothing exciting this week but we plan to take a few trips in the next couple of weeks..... the weather should begin to cooperate and it will be good weather to hit the ocean!

take care
until next time!

Lazy Monday

Yesterday was a busy one and the day flew by. We didn't make it to church but found the one we are planning on going to. We weren't quite sure how far it is but it will only be about 5 miles.

We left around 10 and went to the large Marion Flea Market. We really didn't need to much except some fresh vegetables. So after picking up what we needed and looking around at everything else again we met our group and left to go to a restaurant for lunch. It was then almost 2! After lunch we went to a store called Bealls pronounced Bells...... it was senior day! Can't believe we are at that age and can qualify for 'senior day discount"...but we did and saved 15% besides the sale price.

After we got home we kind of hibernated the rest of the evening and Bill watched football the rest of the evening.

Today he was up and gone before I got up as the truck had an appt. at the Chevy dealership for some 'battery work'...... it was only needing the cables cleaned ...I imagine from the other bad battery... glad it wasn't anything else!
While he was gone..... I cleaned and have done some laundry.
Nothing much exciting around here today except the sun is shining and it is just a bit breezy outside!

Have a good day!
until next time!

Rainy Saturday

It is a dreary and cool misty Saturday in Florida. The temperature isn't too bad but its still cool out---59 degrees! I know its better than what the kids have back in Kansas.... single digits!

On Wednesday we drove to Tampa to the RV SuperShow. It was really neat and saw lots of new rigs, all sizes. We went to investigate a Newell... gorgeous coach! I never did see a price on it.... guess if I had to ask I couldn't afford it anyway! haha!!!

We ran into our friends from Canada there.... we had wanted to hook up with them someplace and didn't think we would have a chance of just running into them but we were in the vendor area and turned a corner and there they were at a picnic table watching people! It was great to visit with them again! We hope to make a day trip to Bradenton where they are to see them while we are down this way.
On our way home we stopped at the Strawberry Farm Market again for supper..... a fresh strawberry shortcake! YUMMY!!!!

Thursday was a catch up day.... the guys came to fix my washing machine and after they left I started doing laundry! Finally today, Saturday, got it all caught up for the week! YAHOOOO!!!! We didn't do much on Thursday for the rest of the day..... guess everyone was too tired after such a long day Wednesday.

Friday, I finished cleaning and then we left to go visit and have lunch with some of our Estes park workkamper friends who are about 25 miles from here. It was a great lunch and the 8 of us enjoyed visiting again.

We are having trouble with the battery in the truck so Bill and our friend have taken the truck and battery to Walmart to get it fixed... Walmart says its the truck and the Chevy place says its the battery...... we will see who wins!
Hope its not much......

That is about it for the day...if we have time we will go back to the flea market today and have made plans for Mexican for supper..... sounds great to me!

Have a good evening!
until next time

Tuesday am Jan. 15

It was a pretty slow day around the RV yesterday.... Sunday I woke up with a stiff neck....needless to say it wasn't pleasant! Sunday was a rainy day so we just stayed inside most of the day.

Got up yesterday am with my neck feeling a little better than the day before but was sore. We adjusted the "air" in our bed and I think that helped.
So I really didn't do much yesterday except what was necessary and sat around and read most of the day. The cool front came through and I quickly decided capris are not the attire for yesterday! I sat with a blanket on most of the day! I know that sounds crazy but its January in Florida! :)

We adjusted the air again last night in our bed and this am is a totally different story!!! My back feels great! I think I didn't have enough air in the bed to support my back. Is that a Select Comfort commercial or what???????

So far today we haven't done much... B. is outside visiting with the new neighbors from British Columbia as I write. We need to make a Walmart run and I would like to go through some other parks in the area.....

We wanted to watch the final saga of "Lonesome Dove" and did on Sunday night but thoughly dissapointed..... the original is the best! these guys aren't like Robert Duvall and Tommie Lee Jones at all...... enough said!

So have a good day!
We are heading to Tampa on Wed. to the Super RV show!

Sunday eve Jan. 13th

A few days ago I promised myself I was going to write more often.....well, sorry about that!
Friday was kind of a catch up day at the coach. I did laundry and cleaned...boy is that exciting or what? :)

Sat. am we got around and went to a HUGE flea market at Marion, Fla. It was really neat and lots larger than Don-Wes in Mercedes, Tx. They had lots of nice things and we picked up a few things. After that we decided to check out a retirement south of there called "The Villages". I'm sure some of you have seen a commercial on TV about it. It was AWESOME!!! They have their own hospital, medical clinics, Walmart, shopping etc. The houses were very nice and a wide variety of sizes. After our friend checked out the prices we thought it was pretty high but after really thinking about it and what it entails it didn't seem to bad. It was fun to see golf carts parked like motorcycles on the street! If you lived there you really wouldn't even have to travel far for anything...not even a movie! Impressive! Of course, from where we lived that was a dream! haha!!!!

Sunday am we went to another flea market and came home in the rain..... It rained off and on most of the afternoon and then the clouds moved on .... it is to be cooler but nice the rest of the week.
Hopefully our washer will be fixed this week!

So that about takes care of our first week in Florida! We picked up some fresh fruit and vegetables for very reasonable prices at the flea market yesterday...... loved that!

until next time!

Thursday eve.

Where have the past few days gone? To catch you up we have been pretty busy going here and there.....
Tuesday, we kind of hung around the campground in the morning and just caught up visiting. Tuesday afternoon we went downtown and rode around a little bit to seewhere it is. Then we went out to have Mexican for supper at a restaurant called ElTerro.... it was good!

Yesterday, some friends of our workkamper friends next door invited some friends over for snacks and supper. We decided at the last minute to grill hamburgers so we went to the store in the am and then I fixed a cake for supper. Their friends brought their bongo ball game and we played 3 games.... guess who won all 3! Bill and I!!!!!

This am we got up early and left around 8 to go to Lakeland to the Workkamper News Job Fair. It was a 2 hr. drive and we drove in fog part of the way. When it cleared off we were at the Center. There weren't only about 20 prospective "parks" there. Not one was what Bill and I were looking at but it was interesting to visit with them anyway. We left around lunch time and headed to Chili's for lunch. After lunch we drove about 20 miles west and found a Strawberry Farm Market. They have fresh strawberries and so we all had to try the strawberry shortcake.... it was big enough for each couple to share! Yummy! We also brought some fresh fruit and it was soooo much cheaper than what we usually pay! Then the ride back home......
we had a fun day today!

Not much planned for Friday...... since our washer is on the fritz and the part won't be here till next week I plan to get some laundry done tomorrow. Big Plans huh?

Well, that about catches us up for now...
until next time!

Hi from Florida!

Good morning!

We arrived at Ocala yesterday around 11. We spent the night before at a small but so so park then drove the rest of the way in yesterday am. The interstate was great and pretty busy.

We are parked next to our workkamper friends from Estes Park. We visited with them for a little bit then another workkamper couple from Estes came over! We were surprised to see them so soon! So later in the afternoon the last of the 3-4 couples arrived! It was like old home week! We sat around and visited and laughed and talked about our jobs this past summer! We solved all the problems at the park! haha!!!! It was fun seeing the other 6!

The weather here is almost perfect! It was pretty foggy yesterday am when we were driving but by the time we got here the sun was really shining. It got up to 73 degrees and was soooo nice! Bill put his shorts on right away! I'm sure he will be living in them for the next months ahead! Me..... I will have to put my winter clothes away and get out the capris! Another first....I said last Feb. was the first time ever I wore capris in Feb.... beat that record in January this year!!! It was still cool in the evening but at least no bugs so far!!!!

Not sure what we have planned for today but will do some scouting around.
We have talked about things we would like to do and so I imagine we will be busy!

Well, I need to get busy and get around for the day.... have a good day.....

until later

Outside of Tallahassee

We are outside of Tallahassee at a small RV park for the night. It reminds me of the RV park at Bucombe creek at Lake TExoma. When we got here it was 66 degrees! Wonderful!!!!

I checked the weather for Ocala and it is to be in the 70's all week long! Maybe I can shed my long sleeved shirts!!! I did pack some coats away already.....

Well, not much else for tonite going on here so will close for now....

have a good Sunday!

1st Friday of January

Hi everyone,

We are up and around for this great Friday! I have gotten the inside cleaned and Bill has gotten the underneath ready to go too.

We are leaving tomorrow morning for our 1st leg of the trip to Florida. We decided not to go all the way tomorrow and go partway Sat. with the rest of the way on Sunday.

We have really enjoyed this past month spending time with my sister and brother-in-law. We have never been able to do this length of time before and its been wonderful. But even if we had spent 6 months here the time would come to go on. Boy does time go by fast!

So until we reach our next destination I will close for now....

take care.
