We spent a very windy weekend at the lake outside of the town we used to live in. So today we loaded up and moved into the roadside park. We will spend the next week here. It was soooo windy all weekend at the lake and we couldn't even sit outside and enjoy the nice area. The grass is still green and the camping area looked really nice for September!
Today we hung around the camper for most of the afternoon then went up to our friends house for the evening. They had planned to come out to the lake but she had a sinus infection and was sick all weekend. Doing much better today but still coughing. We visited and the guys watched football to their hearts content.
After we drove to the next town to have Dairy Queen for supper we went back to their house and we did a "girls evening" of doing our feet! It was great and our feet look good! :)
The wind has gone done some for the evening but the weatherman says it might blow again tomorrow! Great!!!! :(
have a good evening!

3 weeks later!
Hi everyone!
I know it is about 3 weeks later! Boy have we been busy! We have ended our stay at Estes Park and are now back in Ks.
It was very hard for us to leave Estes Park and our friends there. We really enjoyed getting to know them and spend time with them. We certainly hope our paths cross again! We have made plans to do just that and we hope they come to pass!
We left there last Saturday and drove to Great Bend,Ks. We stayed at our friends shop. We had all the amenities and got the things done we wanted to. We got to visit with 4 other couples of our camping group so we had a great week! I'm sure they are ready for some peace and quiet! Today we drove to our old home town and will be here for about a week.
When we left the aspen were turning colors and it was definitely turning cooler up in the mountains. It is warm here in Ks. and we both noticed the heat for sure! But this evening it was cooler when the sun began to go down. What a difference a few months makes in getting used to the weather!
We didn't have bugs in Estes Park and boy they are here in KS.!!!! We drove into town this evening and it looked like it was snowing there were so many!
Well, this is all for tonite! Have a good evening!
till next time!

Almost a week later......
Hey everyone!
Sorry it has taken me so long to write again! We have been going out in the evening's to scope out the elk in the meadow. There are so many more each day. One evening a ranger told us that now the the weather is cooler and the days shorter more will gather. It is so neat to see/hear the bulls bulging and watch them "fight" with each other. There are so massive bull elk around here. Sat. am when we got to work there was a huge bull elk in the road at our park.He even helped himself to one of the workkampers hummingbird feeder and some bird food of another workkamper. The aspen are turning color a litle higher up.Last night the temperature got down to about 42. It may be cooler tonite.
Friday on our day off we went to the Scottish/Irish Higland festival here in Estes Park. It was a fun day and we enjoyed the music, seeing the Jousting and of course pretending we were Irish! I did find out my mother's maiden name was Scottish.
We didn't do much yesterday on our day off and today was the weekly trip to Longmont to get groceries. Hopefully we will be stocked now until we leave in a couple of weeks. It's hard to believe that the time is going so fast now. The park is slowing down except on the weekends and some of our workkamper friends will be leaving.
So now that I have caught up on our "daily" happening's I hope you have a good evening....
until next time!

Sunday evening
It has been several days since I've last written but not much has happpened in our "world" worthy of printing..... haha!!
We have had a few very busy days. Bingo is finished for another season in Estes Park. We all hoped that one of us would win the "big money" but it was not meant to be. We still stopped at the Dairy Queen for our evening treat!
There was a huge craft show at the downtown center this weekend so we went to it today. Some beautiful things and loved looking at the still life pictures of the area to check to see if we had been to some of these.
Laundry and relaxing was waiting for us when we got home from downtown and I'm still trying to get caught up. One of the guys here in the park brought us some fresh trout he had caught so B. grilled it tonite for supper. It was good but lots of bones!
After supper, we took a ride to Beaver Meadow and saw several herds of elk beginning to gather. What an exciting sight to see and hear! We now know we will be taking nightly rides to that area to see mother nature! It was getting dark when we left but just listening to them and seeing the huge massive bull elks begin to bugle to each other is quite a sight! We have been told we haven't seen anything yet! It must be getting colder up above for them to begin moving down to the meadows. One of the huge elks we saw had only one side of his huge antlers! He was enormous! We can only imagine how he lost the other half but evidently he was the winner!
The air is getting cooler each evening and the days are a comfortable . It didn't rain today but it sure looked like it could pour!
The park is so full that there were no RV sites or tent sites available last night. But Monday will be a mass exodus I'm sure! Traffic from the National Park was a steady stream going and coming today too. We decided we may go hiking tomorrow when everyone is leaving. I'm anxious to see if the trees are beginning to turn color. It might be a little early yet.
Until next time!
